    I attended because I had severe shoulder pain to the point of not being able to move my arm, I was in agony. I was booked in quickly and the triage nurse saw me very quickly, but their attitude was not friendly. They were very quick to tell me that I should've gone to my GP instead, which gave me the impression they thought I was a time waster. I very rarely go to my GP or to the urgent care centre, I only go if I really feel I need to. The nurse then said "I'll examine you" and pretty much before I could respond, they harshly poked and prodded at my very sore shoulder and said "so it just hurts everywhere then" when I couldn't tell them exactly where the pain was coming from. They booked me in to see the hospital doctor but again said "in future go to your GP" as if I was a waste of time. If I had gone to the wrong service that's absolutely fair enough but the nurses attitude was not OK, they totally made me feel stupid and as though I wasn't worth their help, when I was in extreme pain. I understand the stress staff are under but not everyone is a time waster, I was visibly in pain and distress. I then saw 2 doctors who were much more professional and understanding. They diagnosed me with frozen shoulder which is very painful. The nurse should've been a bit more professional especially with how abruptly they examined my shoulder. It made me feel like I shouldn't use the walk in service ever again, and to be honest I probably won't.

    Had a new knee done yesterday. Every single individual was just superb and made my experience the very best it could be. Thank you so much to the surgical team including recovery, the team on ward 15, the team on ward 10 and the physiotherapists. I really appreciated the extremely high standard of care. I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough.

    Hello, I visited WGH urology department today to have a Cystoscopy. I was nervous about having this procedure. From the moment I stepped into the department I was greeted by the receptionist. I then went in for the procedure, and the nursing staff were so kind and caring, chatting with me and giving me lots of reassurance. The consultant who performed the Cystoscopy made me feel at ease, talking me through everything that was happening. Treating me with dignity, kindness, and respect. I can't praise this department enough. Thank you for making this experience as easy as possible! Keep up the fantastic work!

    From the moment you step through the door everyone is helpful and you are put at ease because of the caring manner. I had an overnight stay on Ward 10 following hip replacement. The ward, theatre, recovery and the tea ladies were all excellent. Care was second to none. The team work within the various teams was superb. Everyone was a credit to their respective profession. I would not hesitate to recommend Wansbeck

    I attended Wansbeck Hospital this afternoon after losing the balance falling on the left side of my body with my little finger taking the full force on the fall . I was seen by a Nurse Practitioner who sent me for an x-ray. Outcome my little finger was dislocated. The Nurse Practitioner tried numerous times to realign the finger but to no avail. Outcome I will receive a telephone 📞 call within 3 days from the Trauma Clinic Cramlington Hospital. The medical staff that looked after me were a great bunch of extremely professional staff. Patient care was second to none and treated me with the upmost respect. Mind we did have a good laugh which made me feel at ease given that my finger was in a lot of pain. Grateful Thanks to all the staff that were involved in my care.

    I had new knee replacement on 08/05/2024. I would like to share that my experience from going in to coming out was absolutely brilliant. Everyone had a smile on their face and absolutely nothing was a problem for them. I can’t praise them enough. Many Many thanks

    I was on holiday in Northumberland last week and had a fall in York when travelling to Seahouses from Dorset. I went to this hospital to get checked out as I had sustained a cut over my eye and had previously suffered a stroke back in November 2023. Everyone I encountered in the hospital was kind, friendly and very helpful. The nurse who guided me through the visit was exemplary. I came away feeling reassured that I was ok. Thank you all.

    Excellent service with professional and compassionate staff who explained everything and kept me calm. There was some confusion about what was going to be carried out and what was actually carried out, which was clariified by a phone the next morning.

    I recently had treatment for an inguinal hernia repair at Wansbeck General Hospital, and I cannot praise the staff and services enough. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed and cared for. The medical team on ward 15 demonstrated exceptional professionalism, compassion, and expertise. They took the time to explain my treatment plan thoroughly, ensuring I understood every step. The nurses were attentive, ensuring my comfort and well-being throughout my stay. The cleanliness and organization of the hospital were impressive. The facilities were modern, and safety protocols were diligently followed. It’s evident that patient care is their top priority. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone on ward 15, especially the consultant who performed the operation; for their dedication and commitment to providing outstanding healthcare. Thank you for making a challenging time more manageable and for your unwavering support. I wholeheartedly recommend Wansbeck General Hospital to anyone in need of medical care.

    I had a knee replacement on 9th May. I needed an overnight stay. I was very well cared for by all involved. Staff were very friendly, helpful, supportive and professional. There was good communication prior to and during my stay in the Wansbeck. Received good information post surgery linked to a comprehensive discharge plan. Thank you to all involved!
