  1. Review titled Dismissive

Rated 1 star out of 5

No introduction to who was dealing with me, could have been anyone for all I know. How can the person dealing with me without any Xray etc say I had arthritis in my knee, my age perhaps? He also asked if I wanted any pain relief! I felt very uncomfortable and hope I never have to be seen in there again. But on a positive note a 2 minute consultation meant I didn’t pay to park my car.

  3. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

In September I was diagnosed with breast cancer and last Friday I was given the wonderful news that I am now cancer free. I cannot begin to describe how thankful I and my husband and family are to the staff of North Tees Breast Unit who have cured me of this disease. The speed at which the investigations and the surgery were done has been amazing and the support and care I have been given from every member of staff that I came into contact with has been first class.

  4. Review titled Admiration but …

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Nothing but admiration for this department and this hospital. Seen quickly and efficiently after a doctors referral. However was given a follow up appointment and asked to give a blood sample before the next appointment. The appointment has now been cancelled and no reason given and no further appointment made. Therefore left in limbo as what to do. A simple reason for the cancellation would have helped.

  7. Review titled 2 lovely staff, surgical decision ward- waiting room

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Kelly - Posted on 05 August 2024

On Friday 2nd Aug I attended accident and emergency I had to have an emergency MRI on Saturday morning, there where two staff members that really stood out as carrying and considerate. I had a long wait and e (with a green tabard) was always checking on me and asking me how I was doing. She kept chasing the Dr for me as she knew I had been waiting for hours. The lady with the black tabard I didn’t get her name but she was also extremely helpful and made me feel at ease. I could hear how helpful they were to everyone even when a patient rang up and was shouting at one of them. They remain professional, and were just so lovely and reassuring. I think they should be recognised for the lovely caring considerate people they are. They are doing a great job!! Thank you both so much 😊

  8. Review titled Great Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had to bring my mother to the Urgent Care Department at North Tees Hospital as she had recently banged her head and she had started getting 'panda eyes'. We needed to make sure this was not caused by a bleed on the brain. The service we received was excellent. She had her blood pressure, pulse, and temperature taken, and was seen less than 10 minutes later. The practitioner who assessed my mother was very efficient and caring. She explained what she was doing, and why she was doing it. She also told my mother all the symptoms she needed to look out for in case her condition deteriorated. She then gave my mother some literature to read at home. I just wanted to express my thanks for the kind, efficient and caring service she received from all the staff we came across. Many thanks.

  9. Review titled Disappointed with service

Wife went in and was in for over a week, had to get district nurses to call and tell the ward about her caferter. When enquiring had it been flushed could not get a straight answer and asked about her caferter change they had booked her in for the operation but was not done as thearter busy. Explained she aready had a caferter and just needs a change. Could not get a straight anwser and when we told them the family had power of attorney was told they do not take notice of this. Also when you interump the staff as they are not answering your question ot they are not givining you the correct information all you get told interup me again i will put the phone down when she did come out she was worse than when she went in. Also GP still awaiting her discharge papers as there is items that need attention All the time she was in worried asthe answer where not there as they made you feel that do not ask you are a nothing

  10. Review titled Great professional service and caring team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by M mcintosh - Posted on 11 June 2024

My dad is back on this ward after amazing support from a stroke 3 and a half years ago. This recent admission has been treat with professionalism and care that is clearly based in continuity of care. It's lovely to see the team has changed very little and although he does not remember them they have remembered his character and its made his stay easier for him. We as a family think this ward is remarkable and again every encounter with domestics, hostesses, nurses, pharmacy HCA, physio and speech and OT has been outstanding and the enhanced carers who support when he is particularly struggling. What a great team a lovely ward and after such a long period between admission still delivering exceptional care.
