  1. Review titled Outstanding

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Aysa Hazarbuz - Posted on 26 April 2023

I have struggled with mental health for many years. Stress and anxiety is one. Every single midwife, doctor, nurse etc who took care of me during my visit where absolutely amazing. I had to go through my worst ever fear of having to have emergency surgery. My labour ended in an emergency c-section and despite my horrible words and actions due to my fears and pain I was in everyone involved actually made me feel safe. Everyone just got on with what needed to be done. everything around me stayed calm. There was a lot going on at once and it was a lot too process in such a small amount of time. Me and my baby are now home healthy happy and safe thanks to everyone who took care of us. All the midwifes where happy, friendly, understanding, helpful and much more. The place itself is kept clean and organised. There was plenty of choice for meal times. Thank you to everyone involved in mine and my babies care your hard work did not go unoticed

Dear Ms Hazarbuz Congratulations on the recent birth of your baby, how lovely. Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback regarding your recent experience when attending Tunbridge Wells Hospital Maternity Unit. Though I am sorry to learn that unfortunately you underwent an emergency caesarean, which I appreciate must have been a very worrying experience, I am pleased that all staff caring for you made you feel safe. It is lovely to hear that you thought them to be happy, friendly, understanding and helpful. It is also nice to hear that you found the Unit to be clean, organised and that there was a variety of menu choices. All staff appreciate receiving such kind words and praise, so please be assured that I will pass your feedback to the maternity, domestic and catering management teams, so that is can be shared amongst all staff. Thank you again for your time and interest, I do hope that you have made a full recovery and are enjoying motherhood. 2. Review titled Good job

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Julie Akers - Posted on 23 April 2023

My son Thomas had his Gallbladder removed last Wednesday (19/4/23) in the short stay unit. Tom is profoundly deaf and losing his sight, he suffers this disability very bravely and has never grumbled about his lot in life but the constant pain and sickness with this additional disease had used up all his reserves. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff in the short stay unit, reception, nursing and the surgical team. The day went smoothly. It can be challenging communicating with Tom, nobody was fazed by his disability, Tom was treated like any other patient.the whole team showed knowledge, skills, kindness and empathy. Tom is now much better, getting stronger each day, he has his vibrancy back, his sense of humour. Thankyou so much to the whole team, you are magnificent. We send all our thanks and appreciation to you all. Yours most sincerely. Thomas Akers, Parichat Akers (Wife) Julie Akers (Mum) and Jeremy Akers (Dad)

  3. Review titled Great service during the junior doctors' strike

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Alan - Posted on 15 April 2023

Late evening around 9pm I had to attend A&E, fully aware this was during the junior doctors' strike. Despite the strain this must have placed on the department I have nothing but praise for the people I met and the treatment I received. The lady on the A&E check-in desk, the triage nurse and the doctor were all most helpful, friendly and professional. I also did not experience any long periods waiting to be seen. I was sent home after tests were carried out and receiving painkillers, knowing that I would come back the following day for a scan. The efficiency continued - I had a call early the following morning at 9 am asking me to have a scan. A huge thank you!!!

Every member of staff I encountered from the surgeons, the anaesthetists and the nurses were all fantastic, so kind and compassionate with everything. And reassured me with everything. I am an extremely anxious patient and they really kept me calm, I really couldn’t thank them enough for saving my life and for how kind everyone was on the ward.

  5. Review titled Trouble free procedure. Superb friendly staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Tony C - Posted on 01 March 2023

Had to have a colonoscopy at Pembury. Not an especially pleasant procedure, but with the aid of the very efficient, friendly staff it was a breeze. Seen on time, assessed and everything explained. Very personable doctor doing the procedure helped to relax me. The actual procedure was a tad uncomfortable, but the sedative helped a great deal. The results of the procedure are fully explained at the end to make it less worrisome. The department is very clean, light and airy and there is an overall air of efficiency. I cannot recommend or thank the staff and Pembury hospital enough....Many Thanks Tony C

  6. Review titled Great hospital!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tom - Posted on 27 March 2023

Just got home after spending 8 nights in hospital, due to an abscess. This is a very nice modern hospital and it was great to have my own room for four nights, which I believe is something available to most inpatients. It aided a lot in my recovery to be somewhere quiet and peaceful. All the staff were great and I really appreciated their kind care. It really made me appreciate how every role plays an important part in patients recovery and how lucky we are to be supported by hardworking staff members from such a wide range of countries.

Further follow up ct/mri appt has to be yet arranged- advised 8/9 weeks wait, but is now 16 weeks from last appt I have left three messages on the secretary's answerphone, over the last 2/3 weeks- asking for a status of where I am in the system and could I have a call back. The silence is deafening!! Scanner depts at Maidstone and Pembury, and General Appointments depts have confirmed I have no further appointments arranged. Am I to leave answerphone messages each day -until I receive an answer?

  9. Review titled Just amazing

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 February 2023

From the moment i walked into A&E it was amazing everyone was helpful and happy. Staff were busy doing there thing, people were cleaning chairs and porters were doing there thing. Once through i was dealt with by one extremely knowledgeable and competent doctor and was then left with the most amazing nurse ever, bloods taken with minimal effort and so friendly. Off for a CT Scan and a little wait for results but then loads of reassurance from the amazing doctor. All good and cost less than a beer. Thank you Pembury hospital you are all amazing.

  10. Review titled unsigned fit-note

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by bernard williams - Posted on 16 April 2024

the trreatment and assessment has been adequate, however the fit note i received was not signed nor did it show the occupation of the practitioner. Because of this i have not received benefits claimed for, hence i have no money to attend my appointment on the 24/04 /24 at tunbridge wells hospital. I spoke on the phone to a receptionist at the orthopaedic department yesterday whom on my behalf said they'd chase up the Doctor to sign a fit note that he had issued to me so i can send it to the relevant department/s. this is a schoolboy era and has left me without money to travel ,pay phone bill etc. ps. i would have prefered to call to get immediate clarification but i have no credit to do so. sincerely disgruntled.
