  1. Review titled Totally ignored

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Let down by the system - Posted on 29 September 2022

Referred by 111 after suicidal thoughts, they booked an appt for 2pm. Arrived, waited 1 hour for triage, then 3 hours sat in fit-to-sit panicking more and more as my meds wore off. Noone said a single word to me the entire time I was there. I wandered off, they didn't notice. I walked out of the hospital- it took them a full 90 minutes to notice I was missing at which point they called my mobile to ask where I was and could I come back to fit-to-sit. They thought I was still inside the hospital. How is it acceptable that someone with mental health issues is ignored and it's ok to lose someone who is suicidal?

  2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended for day surgery. Literally everyone I encountered was amazing from the admissions nurse, anaesthetist, surgeon and recovery. Everyone made me feel at ease and the whole process was professional and well organised. The only improvement that could be made is if you could bring one friend/family member with you.

  3. Review titled Outstanding care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Samantha M - Posted on 08 October 2022

I was admitted to Pembury Hospital for a full hysterectomy which ended up being a long surgery due to difficulties. The care that I received from everyone I encountered was outstanding. I was on Ward 33 and they are all truly amazing and I will be eternally grateful after having to remain in for 7 days. The surgeons, anaesetist, doctors, nurses, Health care assistants, phlebotomist, cleaners and porters and everybody that I encountered were so kind, helpful, informative and truly amazing… angels in disguise! I had to return 5 days later to A &E and a wonderful lady security guard got me a wheelchair and pushed me in while my partner parked the car. She was so warm and friendly. The triage nurse was equally so wonderful and made me feel at ease throughout. I had to return to Ward 33 where again the care was amazing. They all deserve so much for the care they give and I saw first hand how they do not stop and are always so willing to make you feel at ease. Again, I am truly grateful and thank you so much. Let’s hope that you all get rewarded for the wonderful work that NHS staff do!

  4. Review titled Quick and painless!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Catherine Hawkes - Posted on 02 October 2022

I tripped and fell on my left arm whilst teaching a Drama workshop on Thursday 29th September. Pain like I’ve never known. A colleague drove me to Pembury hospital. Within three or four minutes I was given a strong painkiller, then wheeled off for x-ray which revealed that I had dislocated my left shoulder. Was then seen immediately by a Doctor who explained what was going to happen. My shoulder was then put back in place while I chugged down on entinox. Then the pain went - immediately. The next morning a member of the fracture clinic phoned me and went through timescale for physio exercises and booked me in for a follow up mri. and emailed everything to me. All of the staff were so kind to me and so efficient. I shall be returning to teach more drama workshops tomorrow (wearing my sling of course). My most sincere and grateful thanks to all who helped and treated me. My experience and opinion of the hospital is that it is really brilliant. Thank you again.

  5. Review titled Outstanding service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jenny White - Posted on 22 September 2022

I visited A&E last night with my four year old son with stomach pains, and I cannot fault the level of service we received from every single member of staff. Everyone was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and caring. My son was scared of everyone he came across which made assessing his situation more difficult, but everyone was calm, patient and friendly towards him. The relevant tests were completed as straightforward as possible, and information and updates were provided to me clearly and in a timely manner. We were at the hospital for around 6 hours in the end but weren't kept waiting unnecessarily. I cannot thank you enough for seeing us and I am so proud of the service we received - thank you all.
