  1. Review titled Wonderful treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Phillip - Posted on 05 June 2024

I visited audiology for my new hearing aids. The person I saw was friendly and professional putting me at ease very quickly. The result was me leaving with new hearing aids setup and enabling me to hear things I had not for quite some time. I cannot fault the care and attention during my visit. Thank you

  2. Review titled Excellent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Mum who has dementia and suffered a fall went through a&e there was a long wait however staff were so busy! They met checking in my mum offfering food and drink! Admitted to ward 24, fantastic ward from those providing general support, those delivering meals, staff assisting mum to eat and the nurses and Drs. Yes they are very busy but my mum was cared for and I cannot complain about anything in her 5week stay! Drs and nurses kept me up dated. Frustrated when mum was ready for dis charge with social services who were slow to do anything, lack of communication! Assessment done over the phone!!!!!! On Mums last week she was moved to ward 29 again cannot fault the support, care and compassion given to her! Thank You !!!!!!!!!!

  3. Review titled Exceptional service A&E and SAU Harrogate and York

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sandra - Posted on 25 May 2024

Harrogate A&E contacted SAU at Yorkshire District Hospital to organize a surgeon to repair an injury to my lip. The nurse at A&E did an exceptional job at temporary repair for the journey to the SAU. The surgeon at SAU was considering leaving the steristrip in place as perfectly aligned and started to “heal”. The surgeon decided on stitches as repairs were needed on inner lip also. Surgeon put me as ease explaining the procedure and why. Great conversation though I didn’t always respond as concerned about speaking while lip was being repaired. It was 19:00 when arrived and almost midnight when left SAU. Hope the surgeon was able to grab a snack and rest before next patient. He was very caring and friendly. Someone you would want as a friend/ neighbor. Sandra

  4. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tracy Smith - Posted on 08 May 2024

Couldn't fault the care I received in Accident & Emergency and the Urgent Care Centre. Initially went to A&E where I was seen and triaged very quickly to the UCC. Once there I was assessed by a Nurse Practitioner who sent me for an x-ray and then saw the same Nurse again on my return for the diagnosis (broken foot) and treatment/advice. All the staff that I came into contact with were very professional and caring. I arrived at A&E at 8.15am and left UCC at 10.00am. Thank you!!

I'd like to say a big thank you to everyone at York Hospital. Staff were very kind and helpful. It's obviously not ideal needing to visit a hospital but the staff really put me at ease. Thank you!

Today I went to YDH to the Cardio Respiratory Department for a Stress Echocardiogram. This is just a note to thank the physiologist and his colleague for their friendly and efficient manner of the procedure, they do the NHS proud and thanks once again John Daniel

  7. Review titled Terrible A&E staff and service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 May 2024

After waiting 11 hours in A&E and having no pain killers or tests done, I was finally sent at 10.00am to the hospital GP due to this being faster than waiting further hours in A&E! After a total of 14 hours in York hospital, I was just given antibiotics and sent home. Not to mention the night staff on A&E were extremely rude to everyone in the waiting room, they were not tentive and had clearly forgotten how to speak to people with basic manners and social skills. I am absolutely appalled by this service and next time would rather suffer and attempt the GP practice the next day rather than being sat in A&E with extremely rude staff in a hostile environment!

  8. Review titled Outstanding care and expertise

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Janice H - Posted on 03 April 2024

I attended York Hospital for a guided steroid injection for a painful hip condition and was highly anxious. However, I received a first class level of treatment from entering the hospital to leaving (and on time). The consultant radiologist was professional, reassuring and explained everything he was doing. The observing registrar and nurse who were also in the procedure were equally as professional and caring. I cannot fault the care and expertise I received, and I left the hospital feeling much better and in less pain, than when I entered.

  10. Review titled Doctors waiting times

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 March 2024

Came in as I was booked in by my doctor on to the triage ward, midwife times were fine and midwife was nice and polite, but waiting for 3 hours whilst in pain and heavily pregnant left sat on the most uncomfortable wood chair to see a doctor was just unreal! I was then told the doctors were doing a change over at this point I couldn’t wait any longer and left. I understand doctors are busy but I lost count how many doctors strolled past me without a care in the world!
