  1. Review titled Wonderful service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently had a week plus stay in Wittering ward as part of a rehab for an operation.Throughout my stay the Nurses and Healthcare Assistants were fantastic.Nothing is too much trouble for them, and they looked after me very well. They all have a lovely sense of humour, and work really hard.I would give them all 10/10 .

  2. Review titled Communication Issues

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Colin Powell - Posted on 28 March 2023

I'm due to have eye screening on 24th April at 10 a.m. I have been on the phone twice to try and reschedule a different time, the first time it just rang and rang foe one hour, the next time it did say Diabetic Screening and then nothing for 50 minutes. I did not just want to not turn up, rather someone else have my appointment, but, it appears this is to only way to communicate. I tried to see if there is a real time diary on line where you can cancel and reschedule but, cannot find one. Help!!

  4. Review titled Left unable to move

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Victoria Meir - Posted on 12 March 2023

I arrived though the ambulance service, this was with * and * who were absolutely amazing and I cannot thank them enough. I was then seen by multiple clinicians / HCA’s I was then transferred to the wittering ward into the care of a HCA and a nurse. I have never had such horrific care from wittering ward. I have had multiple admissions as well as having both my children at St Richards. I was left with no help from 9:30pm until my discharge at 10 am to go to the toilet. I asked for help at 3 am and 4 am for the nurse that can in for help and she left the bed pan and said ring when you are done. Even after explaining I could not do this myself. I was then left until 6:30am when they came to take my BP. I have had no information given throughout my admission and have been discharged after I explained the care received to the consultant. I am now discharged home under the care of my husband for a week and then on my own, while I wait for Bognor hospital to contact me about next steps. I am using the toilet adjuster given but the OT to go to the toilet with a bowl underneath but have nothing else. My husband will be deployed on 20th March and I will then be at home alone with my children home on weekends from boarding school. This can not be maintained. I have been given no future plans or advice.

  7. Review titled Can improve services

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2023

Took my husband in A&E for chestpain and numbness of left arm. ECG and blood test done within half hour we arrived. We got the results of the blood test through the patient know best website. It's been 3 hours and we haven't seen the doctor to update us with what's going on. If this is how they treat chest pain or potential heart attack, they have to do better.

  8. Review titled Massive thanks to the accident and emergency department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gordon - Posted on 16 February 2023

In early evening I tripped over a very heavy parcel in an unlit hallway. The parcel stayed put but I went flying into a solid brick wall 8ft away. I realised from the pain that I was in serious trouble but managed to phone 111. That was 10 minutes of an altogether frustrating experience but at least they managed to get me a slot at St.Richards accident and emergency. Got a taxi and was seen almost immediately. The nurses and doctors were superb as nearly 5 hours dealing with complicated dislocated shoulder. That was followed up the following morning with a call from their physiotherapy department. Could not have received better treatment and service.

  9. Review titled Satisfied customer, but jargon in discharge letter

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 February 2023

My elderly parent reports excellent experience of care from hard working staff in cardiology through recent stay. Patient's hearing is poor so communication difficult. The discharge letter was therefore particularly important as a means to explain cause of admission and understand potential ongoing concerns. Unfortunately, the discharge letter was written with many medical abbreviations for which no explanation was given. The discharge letter provides patient (and carers) with important information and needs to be readily understood. Otherwise, our sincere thanks for all the expert care provided.

  10. Review titled In Awe of Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jo Staker - Posted on 08 February 2023

I have had to bring my elderly Dad to A&E at St Richards twice in the last month after complete disinterest of his GP. Once he came in by Ambulance and the second time I brought him in myself. On both occasions the staff at St Richards have been nothing short of fabulous. All staff, nurses, doctors, porters, security and support staff. Professional, kind, reassuring, patient and lovely. Twice he has been sorted out and sent home feeling much better and very grateful. Thank you so much for all that you do and the wonderful way you do it.
