I went into st James hospital for bowel cancer and liver mets My whole bowel removed so I have a bag, and section 6 and part of 7 of liver removed. The surgeons both of them , fantastic, the hospital staff amazing , all this through covid. HDU unit exceptional.. My absolute respect to you all, great hospital x

Quite simply, the emergency services saved my life. From my arrival at A&E the triage & emergency processes locked into place & everything came together for one life. I feel extremely fortunate to be given a second chance. I am humbled by all the staff involved who do this day in & day out, from the paramedics who took me to A&E through to the Emergency Consultant.

I was incredibly nervous to have a colposcopy after my first smear test indicated that I had HPV and abnormal cells. The nurses I saw at St. James were so incredibly accommodating to my nerves and really reassured me throughout the entire process. During my colposcopy I became very distressed, and the two nurses who were with me conducting the procedure helped me through the entire process, afterwards another nurse sat with me and my partner and made sure we were both okay to leave. 6 weeks later after receiving my results I'm so happy that I went to that appointment as I know I received the best care possible, with nurses who made me feel much better about receiving my results. Thank you!

I was on ward 44. As an American I have to say that your hospital and staff are what I believe the NHS is intended to be like. From the cleaners to the nurses to the doctors I had great care and understanding of my complex care and eventual surgery. I would especially like to thank the doctor who did my gall stones removal. I credit him with saving my life on the operating table. I had my surgery on the 15th of September. I felt well enough to go home that same evening.
