Review titled Great Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ben Chapman - Posted on 04 June 2025
I took a friend in for 2 possible toe fractures, he was seen for bp/pr/twithin 10 mins, checkup within 20 and X-Ray within 35 mins. Hugely impressive timings and we had 2 brilliant nurses who examined and referred him before the Doctor was speedy in his diagnosis and advised correct care

Review titled Great service from very hard working staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Deborah Withington - Posted on 19 June 2025
Great service from my surgeon and his breast care team, ward 16, ward 12 and mammogram team. Professional, informed and informative, supportive, helpful and positive. Couldn't ask for more. Thank you so much for making my treatment as stress-free as possible. Whilst not a top priority, I know, it is also so positive to be treated in an attractively decorated hospital with views out to trees and plants. The mammogram room is a particular delight.

Review titled Amazing staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Alexandra - Posted on 09 June 2025
Amazing staff, my appointment was right on time, and even though I was very stressed before the appointment, the doctors made me feel very comfortable. The whole department was amazing, and also very clean. It was not too crowded, and everyone seemed happy. Everything seemed to go smoothly and quickly. Amazing experience, for a change! Thank you.

Review titled Car Parking Chaos
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 June 2025
I wish to make the management team aware of the car parking chaos caused by the entrance barrier being out of order. It was in the raised position with an instruction to obtain a ticket from the parking office. It was not clear whether to do this before entering or on leaving the hospital. The G4S operative was not authorised to receive cash & clearly needed better customer service training. The queue for tickets was lengthy and a number of people were anxious about getting to their appointments. It was also a struggle to exit the car park due to near gridlock, which then affected those trying to enter the car park and the road leading to it. Please note that the exit barrier was down, so a ticket was necessary. Unexpected mechanical breakdowns can happen but a more effective system needs to be put in place. If G4S own the car park, then please accept my apologies. If G4S operate the car park on behalf of the hospital, please react quicker and relay effective instructions to those manning the ticket office. The most obvious solution is to not charge and to also have the exit barrier raised until the entrance barrier is repaired. I wish to be constructive in my criticism as for many, their reason for being at the hospital is a stressful or upsetting one and to be worried about parking or spoken to in a rude manner should not add to their burdens.

Review titled Phone call to secretaries
Rated 2 stars out of 5

My call rang out for about 2 minutes, I then got a queue message and music for 30 seconds, it then rang out twice before dropping out. Very poor customer service received.

Review titled Told to go to another hospital
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jason wheelhouse - Posted on 15 May 2025
Went to the A&E or whatever it’s called these days. Overcrowded waiting room. Receptionist completely lacking sympathy and just said it’s about a 5 hour wait so suggest going to Heartlands which has 90 minutes wait. Turned out to be awful advice as I drove 30 mins to Heartlands in traffic and waiting time over 5 hours anyway.

Review titled 17th April-23rd April (Stephen Kiernan)
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Stephen kiernan - Posted on 25 April 2025
A big thank you to all the staff that looked after me during my stay on Ward 12 @ Solihull Hospital. Special thanks in particular for a nurse (you know who you are) who got me out the s__t literally on one particular night 😉😉😉 Only criticism during my stay was having to wait for the Stoma nurse until Tuesday 22nd April due to the Bank Holiday!!! Maybe some emergency cover would have reduced my stay & freed up a bed for somebody else. Keep up the good work,it's people like you that make Britian Great 💙 Best regards, Steve

Review titled Unacceptable treatment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Bernadine lyddy - Posted on 28 April 2025
I took my son to Solihull minor accidents unit and after waiting over 5 hours and seeing 3 different members of staff. He was told it was a sprain and to go home and take paracetamol and ibuprofen. Why did it take so long to reach this diagnosis? Told twice would be better to go to heartlands. When we initially arrived we were not advised there would be a long waiting time. Very disappointed with the way my son was treated.

Review titled Blood test - rude nurse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 25 March 2025
I had my blood tests done today 25/03/2025. I had a consultation with my GP and due to nature of my medical problem, urgent blood tests were required, normally these would be done at the surgery bur no nurse was in. I was instructed to go to Solihull Hospital for the blood tests to be done asap. So I collected my paperwork and headed down. When I got seen by the nurse who was doing blood tests, she had a attitude and started in a aggressive manner telling me off for not having my tests done at my gp and she would refuse me, i tried to explain the reason why but she was just so rude. I was already very nervous to having blood taken and not good with needles. She could have told me the same thing in a nice and polite manner. She banged my paper on the table and then proceeded to take my blood, once she was done, she started telling me again for not having my tests done at my gp’s. I apologised and explained everything again the reason why i couldn't. I was worried about my medical condition and nervous with blood tests, abit of niceness and empathy and understanding could have helped. I remained calm and polite despite her rudeness and thanked her for her time! Maybe she needs to learn some manners. Also I will be putting in an official complaint against her

by Janet Shaw - Posted on 08 March 2025
I have been to the Endoscopy dept twice in a short space of time for procedures. I was very anxious but every member of staff were the best and I felt so cared for and in safe hands. They were very kind and respectful. Unfortunately, I have to undergo more procedures but at least I feel I'm in the best hands.
