  1. Review titled Fantastic birth experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 08 February 2023

All staff we experienced in Maternity services were incredibly kind and professional. The ward is spotless and has a calm/ cosy feeling. We received great care and were provided with useful information to care for our baby. The digital information provided via the Facebook group is also very invaluable, including the free classes. The food services were very well organised, visiting each cubicle directly for orders from the menu and to collect dishes afterwards (this was helpful as we weren’t in the best state to keep an eye on the clock for mealtimes and if the Dad isn’t present it isn’t possible to leave the baby to get food). A handmade knitted hat was even put on our baby when born which was very kind as it all happened so quickly we didn’t have one to hand. Thank you; your occupation and care is so admirable. Please keep doing what you’re doing.

  2. Review titled staff in Gyn 1 Outpatients

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I really hope this reaches those concerned. Thank you so much to the wonderful doctor, trainee doctor and the nurse who attended during an appt and examination this morning at 9.30am The kindness and genuine empathy I received in the room when I was upset was so comforting. That feeling will always be remembered. I was very touched by their care. Thank you. You were amazing.

  3. Review titled Understaffed very clinical

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ollie - Posted on 14 November 2022

Our experience recently wasn’t very positive . We got asked to come in during the early stages of labor because of a minor complication. Upon arrival to st Catherine’s ward it was shift handover and we were forgotten about in the waiting room . After we found a midwife we had to wait a long time to get a bed. I believe they were very understaffed at night. Due to this we felt very alone. Labor suites - once’s we went into active labor and transferred to the next ward I cannot fault the care we were given ,staff were incredible but the labor suites them self were a little run down and old equipment . Recovery ward - again the staff were great and cannot be faulted but the facility was at max capacity , very cramped and very clinical. Again they seamed rushed off there feet and very under staffed. Didn’t feel like a place that we would want to stay overnight so we asked to leave early.

I was enrolled with the Insomnia Clinic and had numerous telephone appointments. I had suffered from severe insomnia and relying on sleeping tablets. The care and instruction was excellent and my sleep has been improved tremendously.

  6. Review titled Pathology rudeness

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Bruno Kaufmann - Posted on 04 November 2022

I came in for a blood test on 27/10 with my wife, and her results have come back but mine haven’t. I called my local GP who told me to call Pathology at the hospital. I got through to Pathology and was told that I need to call my GP again as it wasn’t ‘his job to speak to patients’. It may not be within his job description, but it is the pathology department who do the blood tests so if he had focussed on his job then I wouldn’t need to be calling. I understand the NHS is under a lot of pressure, but manners cost nothing and unfortunately, the person I spoke to doesn’t seem to have any

I was treated in day surgery for my bunion. The staff on the day could not have been more caring and helpful. My follow up appointments with both the consultant and his Reg were also very positive and all questions and concerned answered in full. Thank you all for looking after me so well.

  8. Review titled There for me on my worst few days

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tim - Posted on 20 October 2022

I attended A&E with severe abdominal pain. Every member of staff from reception all the way through to surgery were kind, helpful and cared about my outcome. Nothing was too much trouble, even though the hospital was very busy. I was well informed about each process and everyone had a smile.

  10. Review titled Professional and empathetic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tina Higgins - Posted on 06 April 2023

I was dealt with as a whole person, not just a series of symptoms. I was given the chance to explore the wider issues of my sleep problems with - affording me the time to feel cared for - something I rarely come across in the current climate within the NHS. I now have many tools with which to help myself.
