Review titled heart felt thanks
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by claire Rampley - Posted on 03 May 2023
They were all fantastic, from the cleaners ,nurses, doctors ,surgeons and the tea/dinner folk. Following a heart attack I ended up on the CIU unit. The ward was really well managed and the whole team did a fantastic job of looking after me. Outstanding levels of care even under duress. 20/10 Thank you so much everyone for your excellent care and kindness..fab

I was recently admitted as an emergency with a perforated ulcer and would like to say a big thank you for the wonderful treatment I received. The ambulance crews, doctors, nurses, auxiliary staff and many others gave me every care and attention possible with kindness and compassion and information at all times. The professionalism was excellent. I cannot praise the NHS enough. Thank you all once again. Yours with admiration Alfred

Review titled The care my elderly mother received
by Another Cornishman - Posted on 27 April 2023
The 111 phone service was contacted by me regarding deterioration of my mother, who is in my care at my home. After describing symptoms with 111, it was decided by the call handler to order a category 1 ambulance. The crew were diverted to us, arriving within 15 minutes, where they were both professional and good. We travelled quickly to Treliske hospital, Truro, whereupon my mother (in her 99th year) received excellent care and professional attention both from A&E staff and further ambulance crews over approximately 7 hours until a ward bed was located for my mother. My mother continued receiving excellent care and attention throughout her stay at the hospital right up until I was able to return her to our home - where she continues to make slow, steady progress. I am particularly happy with the treatment and care given by all staff at this hospital toward a lady in such mature years.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave feedback for the team on Eden Ward. It is always good to receive positive feedback and to hear that the nurses were always there to help. Our teams work hard to try and minimise any worry or anxiety for their patients, and to make them feel as comfortable and informed as possible whilst on the ward, and they very much appreciate all feedback. I will ensure that your kind words are shared with them. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Review titled The staff could not have done anything more for me
by mercuryek76 - Posted on 27 July 2023
The doctor knew that my cataract is in my right eye, and it is to be removed under a general anesthetic, he wrote on my forms left eye and local anesthetic. Thankfully, the amazing nurse picked up on this and corrected it. On my patient copy, it says general and left eye. The staff could not have done anything more for me, they were amazing, even the Doctor. He know what I needed, he just wrote it down wrong.

Dear mercuryek76, Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback for the Eye Unit. I am very sorry to hear that there was a mix up with your documentation, but I am delighted to hear that the nurse picked this up and highlighted it to the doctor to get it corrected. Our staff really try their best but are under a lot of pressure, so thank you for recognising that there are amazing, and any near misses were avoided! I will pass your kind words back to the team, Kerry Trembath Senior Staff Nurse Ophthalmology

Review titled Poor Prioritisation in A&E
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 02 June 2023
Having arrived by ambulance with serious injuries from a fall, I was amazed that despite my obvious poor state (I was covered in a lot of blood and had head and other injuries), others that were in the waiting room who were sitting and chatting, reading books etc were seen ahead of myself. Surely there should be a system to deal with more serious cases than those cases that look to be less urgent?

Review titled Boarding bed experience
by Woos mum - Posted on 17 July 2023
I was admitted to Treliske hospital with sepsis in March 2023 and once stabilised and recovering they needed my bed on the surgical ward I was on for someone else to I was moved to the urology ward late in the evening. On arrival I was informed that I was to be cared for with their boarding bed. This was a bed in a corridor. No privacy, no peace and in my opinion a very poor solution. The urology ward had many patients with UTIs which causes confusion and distress in some people and many of the these patients were wandering the corridor and refusing to be encouraged back to their bed by the overworked and understaffed nurses. This was an incredibly upsetting and awful experience that most certainly was not something that contributed to improving my wellbeing. I informed staff that I would go home and return in the morning for my IV antibiotic treatment and was told they would not be able to readmit me in the morning as I will have discharged myself from the care of the hospital. The idea that someone who is considered too unwell to leave but not sick enough to warrant a bed is bizarre. The nursing staff were exceptional and genuinely cared about their patients but in my opinion, they forced to work in such poor conditions with too few colleagues on a shift and then adding an extra bed into a corridor.

Review titled Excellent
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I attended Ear, Nose and Throat after being fast tracked by my doctor. I was seen in just under two weeks. I was examined and had a camera inserted in my nose and on into my throat. This was carried out painlessly. Everything was explained as to what was going on and was reassured that there were no 'Nasties' lurking in my throat. I was concerned when I went in but came out much happier. Thank You.

Review titled Greatly exceeded expectations
Rated 4 stars out of 5

My husband received a telephone appointment about which we were quite anxious. In a very short time the doctor conveyed 100% commitment to achieving the most helpful and acceptable way forward. He also had an extremely kind and reassuring approach - difficult to achieve over the phone. We are very grateful. Thank you.
