  1. Review titled Calm and friendly

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by SJB - Posted on 26 June 2024

I've experienced a friendly and efficient service when I attended Endoscopy at Royal Berks today. Staff made me feel reassured and calm when attending for Endoscopy. They were so understanding and I am full of praise for the way I was treated, both in and out of the theatre spaces. Thankyou so much to all staff involved, at the time, and, previously, with follow up appointments. You are magic.

  2. Review titled Impressed

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Paul S - Posted on 22 June 2024

I was initially seen within 30 minutes, later had bloods, ECG and the attending doctor’s assessment with all the results within 4 hours—which considering it was a Friday was excellent. All the staff I encountered were friendly and supportive. I also found the hospital to look clean and tidy, so thanks to the often unsung cleaners—you’re just as important as any other department in a hospital.

  3. Review titled Skilled, professional and kind

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hazel Archer - Posted on 12 June 2024

From speaking to 111 to eventual discharge, every person and service were excellent. The Westcall GP, paramedics, emergency nurses and doctors, all deserve the highest praise. My particular gratitude goes to the young female doctor who decided to contact the on-call Opthalmology consultant, and to that consultant who promptly identified the cause of my emergency condition and treated it. I feel very grateful to the NHS and to have the RBH as my local hospital. Thank you.

  4. Review titled Impressive

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Alan Clifford - Posted on 06 July 2024

From diagnosis in the colonoscopy department, CT scans, the colorectal nursing team, surgery, after care on the General Surgery Ward and follow up appointments the process was smooth, timely and caring. Treatment was fully discussed and explained to myself and my wife. Questions were welcomed. In every department we were met by polite, patient, well informed, professional staff who tried their very best to achieve a good outcome. So heartfelt thanks to all concerned and a department that clearly put best practise at the forefront of their work. Impressive. We are very grateful to you all and the NHS.

  5. Review titled Exemplary Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Attended the Sonning Ward in the gynecological department today for a Hysteroscopy and was extremely impressed by the service. The doctor (consultant) and two nurses were kind, calm, reassuring and utterly professional. I did not feel rushed and their warm attitude made me relax. I wish I could remember their names to thank them personally.

  6. Review titled Excellent Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Nuala - Posted on 30 June 2024

Was seen promptly when I arrived at Chesterman Unit at 7.30am for gynae surgery. Unit was calm, organized and welcoming. After op was transferred to Sonning Ward to recover. Care from nursing staff was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly. Was discharged following evening with medicines and information necessary to enable me to manage my recovery. Throughout my 2 days at RBH I could not fault the attention I received from all the staff I encountered.

  7. Review titled Can't get out of new Outpatient Ct scan area

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Andy Alder - Posted on 21 June 2024

Had CT scan at about 17:15 on 21/6/24, on leaving the new Outpatient CT scan area the doors refused to open. I tried the green button a few times and the light flashed but the doors stayed locked. I walked about for about 5 minutes and the doors magically opened.

  8. Review titled Amazing care in A&E

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Valentin - Posted on 23 June 2024

I was in A&e on the night of the 21st June accompanying a friend who was very unwell with severe back pain. We waited only 30 minutes for the ambulance people who were very professional and caring. We eventually got to A&e at the Royal Berks and were moved to the waiting area. The reception team were very understanding and helpful and asked the nurses more pain killers for my friend, which really made the difference for her. The nurses and the doctors were exceptionally human and competent, they made my friend feel looked after and supported. We really appreciated being seen by the Advanced practicioner with gray hair who was bery compassionate and reassured my friend. The porters were great too and helped lift her morale up during the trip to the MRI. Thank you so much everybody

I attended a and e on 12th June for physical and mental symptoms, which have been ongoing over four months. The level of care was very poor that I have to now go to another an and e setting to receive safe care.
