  1. Review titled Follow up from previous review

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Vivienne Shelley - Posted on 27 July 2024

Having now been discharged I would like to follow up on my previous review. The care I received was 2nd to none. The only problem I can see is it would be nice if like me your diabetic the food could do with stating how many carbohydrates are in it. I have been a type 1 diabetic for 57 years and know how to carb count but people who are new to it may find it hard.

I was bought to a & e by ambulance, after a few falls. Went straight to resus then Majors then AMU and finally Birchington and I don't have a bad word to say about my experience or care. I'm still there now, the staff are really lovely, they respond to your requests quickly and explained everything to you. Not sure I could do their job, I wouldn't like to look after me! Keep it qeqm you're amazing.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Maria - Posted on 18 July 2024

I went in for day surgery on a 2 week pathway supported by my son We could not have wished for a better service from the pre-op assessment in Birchington Ward to day surgery every clinician was thorough, efficient, professional but also very thoughtful and caring - it is important for them to know their service is very much appreciated

  4. Review titled Exemplary care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Jane W - Posted on 09 July 2024

I was seen in the Endoscopy Unit and subsequently admitted to Acute Medical Unit. I received wonderful care in both departments and every member of staff I encountered treated me with warmth, kindness and respect. I am hugely grateful to the QEQM, and would like to thank them for all the important work that they do, sometimes in trying and difficult circumstances.

  5. Review titled Breast clinic QEQM, Margate

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jill Dyer - Posted on 07 June 2024

I had a suspected breast cancer appt at QEQM today and I must say, from start to finish, my experience was fantastic. From initially seeing the consultant to having the relevant x-rays to getting a conclusion immediately. Everything carried out within 1 1/2 hours by wonderful caring staff, thankfully my worries came to nothing but no one made me feel like I’d wasted their time, great efficient service and wonderful staff. Thank you QEQM!

  6. Review titled Terrible and rude

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 June 2024

Been over here since 11pm, still here the next day at 14:41 after being told my partner would be having an MRI scan at 4 am this morning she’s been waiting in a chair and I’ve had to take a day off work and pay for childcare, only for a nurse to tell us that she’s not even booked for a scan today…. This is a shambles

I am so sorry you and your partner had this experience and that the communication was poor and you waited so long. I will pass your comments to the A & E team at QEQM. If you'd like to tell us more about your experience directly, please contact us via email: ekhuft.patientvoice@nhs.net and we will then be able to ask the service to provide you with a more detailed response. 7. Review titled Impossible to get thru on phone to change o/p appt

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 May 2024

Unable to now have scheduled phone appt in 2 wks because of funeral Tried given number on letter, turned out to be Outpatients and 17th in queue Found website and “change your appt”, did that, hope it has worked Tried operator and asked for the dept, got transferred back to same o/p answerphone, now 19th in queue Found the dept on the website with another number, tried that, “this service no longer available”. Why is it impossible to speak to a real human and get a sensible answer nowadays?

  8. Review titled Diabolical service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 May 2024

I tried to contact Sarre Unit, QEQM to ensure my appointment for 24th May 2024 had been cancelled by the Spencer Wing as they had cancelled my surgery on the 10th May 2024 at my pre-op assessment ( cancelled by nurse). All efforts to telephone the Sarre Unit were futile as each number used was ‘no longer in use’. Main switchboard at QEQM could not help. Neither could the appointment clerk I spoke to. This is an appalling waste of tax payers money.

A&E is very inefficient. It's dirty and wasn't cleaned for the 6+h I was there. Unfriendly staff. No communication. Dirty water supply. Toilet bin full all morning. Dirty sheets on chairs. It doesn't end...
