  1. Review titled consistent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I can't remember my first few days in hospital but from then onwards the care was excellent. From when I was able to realise where I was I was kept in the loop, the staff listened to my concerns, treated me with respect and were always pleasant and cheery from domestics right to the top. It was lovely to get to the end of a (sleepless) night and see them all come on duty looking immaculate and smelling lovely when they had obviously been up since the crack of dawn to come in to work. A word for the night staff also. Although I was a bit confused ( I thought one of the health care assistants was a porter helping out cos they were busy) they listened to me and accommodated my needs as far as they could. The food was pretty good, lots of choice and served out on the ward so you got exactly what you ordered. All in all a positive experience but it is lovely to be home. Thank you to them all.

  2. Review titled Caring service

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Sent in via NHS111 with hypertension, palpitations & nausea. Triaged within 30 minutes then taken to Same Day Emergency Care for further assessment. My family were allowed to stay with me, this was a great comfort for me. All staff friendly, caring and sympathetic to my needs. Impressed with department set up in general, much better than I expected.

  3. Review titled Brilliant Treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

The treatment I received at the QE Breast Clinic recently was absolutely fantastic. I was worried half to death after noticing a swelling in my armpit - my GP got me into the QE Breast Clinic within 13 days and I was given a Saturday appointment, which was great. As soon as I got there, the staff were so lovely and reassuring but also honest. I arrived early, was examined, received an ultrasound scan, was told that everything was okay and was finished within 30 minutes. The warm and supportive clinic staff coupled with effective in-clinic procedures made a really worrying appointment much easier. Thank you so much!

  4. Review titled Disappointed with service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I had an orthooaedic outpatient appointment in September to discuss my failed partial knee replacement. The consultant was pleasant, approachable and listened to me. The consultant gave me a lot of time, examined my leg thoroughly and discussed my situation with my husband and myself. A plan for treatment was devised. It involved a referral for physiotherapy and using 2 crutches to walk short distances. The consultant didn't tell me that the waiting list for physiotherapy was 12 weeks. I found this out when I telephoned the physiotherapy providers. The consultant must have known the waiting time for physiotherapy and if they didn't know then they should know. I think the consultant did know however because I was also advised to try to obtain private physiotherapy. This recommendation was even included in the letter to my GP. I feel very let down and I also feel that the time afforded to me was in a sense wasted time because I am no further forward. I wasn't aware that the NICE guidelines for NHS management of a failed knee replacement includes recommending the patient to pay for private physio. What my husband and I initially felt was a constructive and positive appointment I now feel was a 'put off' appointment. My next out patient appointment is in March 2023 by which time I will probably have had no physiotherapy, will be no better and will still be in agony. I know the NHS is under pressure but at least be honest with patients and don't build up their hopes of treatment when treatment is not available. Transparency really is the best way of dealing with patients in my situation.
