Review titled Good care in the Oncology department
by adrbw95 - Posted on 26 January 2023
Appointment for blood test is much better. The oncology staff I find very nice, caring people, who try their best for us. Like a family I guess. Some I find outstanding as a whole they are all very good & work hard in a difficult department including reception staff.

Review titled outpatient appt
by suwyn - Posted on 05 January 2023
I had an outpatient appointment to see an orthopaedic doctor. I felt that they were very ignorant, did not introduce themsleves so I dont know their name, barely looked up, made almost no eye contact with me, made some very snotty remarks, one being, after I said I was struggling to do my work, they just shook their head, tutted, and said, maybe I should consider a career change, I am mid 60ies, doubt there is a queue of companies racing to employ a cripple, I really felt they were just horrible to me. They showed no empathy, despite the fact because of my bad hip I had fallen and my arm was broken both bones and set in plaster at lincoln hospital in october I came out of there shaking, crying, my friend who had driven me there took me for a coffee to calm down. sadly I have found that consultants often think they are a superior and this one wasn't the first one to be rude to me, I have a few horrible conditions, so being treated kindly would be a bonus, I dont think its too much to ask to be spoken to like a human being

Dear suwyn Thank you for posting your comments to Care Opinion. I am disappointed to see you have not had a good experience from the Orthopaedic Service. These are not the values and behaviours we uphold in the Trust. In order to be able to address this with the appropriate doctor I would appreciate if you could contact the PALS Department to give specific details into the doctor you saw and the day you were seen please. Review titled No idea what to do next
by victorex85 - Posted on 20 March 2023
Firstly I just want to say how lovely the nurses are. It's a nice ward. I'm afraid everything else is terrible. I was admitted last December after having a period for 10 weeks. I had a blood transfusion and was sent home with pills to stop my bleeding and promised a scan in March. Unfortunately in March I was admitted back in after having a Decidual Cast after some research this is because I had been on hormone pills stopping my bleeding for so long. After showing photos time and time again to different members of the gyno team they was shocked nobody had a clue what was going on. I was sent home after a scan on the same pills although promised to be placed urgent for a operation. I'm still bleeding after two weeks I'm left in the dark what to do, I'm afraid I will end up back in again with blood loss which last time was 70% I rung to see if I had been put on urgent on the waiting list and lo and behold nobody has been told and I'm still routine on the list Absolutely no idea what to do next.

Review titled The care I received
by Lovecups - Posted on 12 January 2023
Called 111 at the end of December, who suggested that A&E was the best place for me to receive the care I needed. I arrived in A&E and my care started. I have a complex medical condition, but luckily my consultant was around. I had a emergency endoscopy, and a 4 night stay. Everyone I came into contact with went above and beyond to help me, even though they was rushed off there feet. They always had time to chat to me when needed. The housekeeping team on 1b was amazing always stopped to chat with me. I cannot fault the care I received during my stay. So thank you to everyone

Was admitted to Day case ward for routine surgery. Have underlying conditions which mean I needed extra care prior during and after surgery. Care of all staff from top to bottom has been amazing and can’t thank you enough for bringing me back from the brink! Thanking day ward staff ( every single for one of them ) theatre staff, endocrinology staff, ICU nurses, endoscopy staff, Everyone. Although my day became five days with you I love you all. You certainly deserve a pay rise!!! Please give all these departments my utmost gratitude. Thank you.

Review titled Thoughtful care and more surgery than I anticipated
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Emergency identification of infected gall bladder, not heart attack. Despite obvious pressures in the five days I’ve been here, all staff (except one) have shown a very high level of empathy, skill, kindness and care. Emergency surgery was excellent with much consultation and consideration. I want to say an enormous, wholehearted thank you to you all. You are splendid. Amazing. I wish you were all paid more because you really really earn every cent.

Hi I sustained an injury to my elbow and wrist at a football match last night. Due to not being able to move my arm and in considerable pain and discomfort this morning I attended Pilgrim Hospital. I arrived at around 0830 and was checked in immediately. In around an hour I was assessed and sent for X-Ray. Less than ten minutes waiting there and was quickly x-rayed and sent back to await results. Less than half an hour later I was given the results and out the door in just over two hours from arrival. The parking was only £2 and the shop had reasonably priced snacks. People are very quick to complain and probably not as forthcoming with praise. This experience was excellent and frankly faultless. The staff were professional, polite and attentive and thoroughly deserve positive feedback. Thank you very much.

Review titled A visit to a&e followed by an overnight stay.
by Chiefexec - Posted on 23 November 2022
I was taken ill in my home with stomach pains. A dentist friend seeing my condition immediately called for an ambulance which arrived a few minutes later. On arriving at Pilgrim hospital Boston I was immediately taken to an a&e bay. All the staff from bottom to top were helpful, kind and friendly. I was xrayed and scanned to identify the issue and I was put in a ward overnight. The staff clearly work long and hard...Having little experience of hospitals I found this excellent. I can only say thank you to the whole team at Pilgrim from people moving me about on a trolley and the nursing team to surgeons and specialists. Again I can only say thank you.

The staff on the gastric ward at Pilgrim Hosptal where I spent 3 nights are amazing so caring, professional and dedicated. The hospital is immaculate no worries at all about cleanliness. I have no hesitation recommending Pilgrim Hospiral.
