  1. Review titled No call at appointment time

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Louise McNeill - Posted on 12 January 2023

6:40pm appointment, this was fine as get home from work just before 6:30. They phoned at 6:16 and 6:27 when I was driving. At 6:30 I was sat with pen, paper and phone and no call came. Completely ridiculous to phone so much earlier than the appointment time. Also zero support. I intend to return the CPAP machine as no longer wish to be a patient here.

  3. Review titled All the staff were so friendly

by KBO - Posted on 16 December 2022

Had outpatients appt for second time at Ward 1B All the staff were so friendly and the Dr who I saw put me at ease and said they won't do anything I don't want them to do, which I found was very comforting. Because of this I'm now going in for general anaesthetic, as I could not stand the pain of the procedure. Thank you all so much for your empathy and kindness, as I was feeling very apprehensive anyway. I was seen straight away in clinic at my appt time, was not waiting. They explained everything to me throughout and told me I was in charge, at any time of the procedure I wanted them to stop they would .

  4. Review titled Local anesthetic surgery at Pilgrim Hospital Boston

by Tobydogman - Posted on 08 December 2022

I've been waiting for a surgical procedure which kept being cancelled and rebooked again, including one where I waited at the hospital to be informed that my recovery bed was no longer available. This last time I arrived on time with a very short delay, had two or three paperwork checks, and then the event explained in detail by the surgeon and papers signed. I was then made ready for surgery, all the nurses introduced themselves while making ready for the operation. Things didn't go strictly to plan, but I was kept informed and reassured all the way. A successful job by the surgeon and great team of nurses made my day reasonably comfortable with ham sandwiches and a cup of tea. Good job by a Great Team thanks Pilgrim Hospital

  5. Review titled Excellent Service at UTC

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 January 2023

On 11 th December visited UTC with my son after a referral from 111service. Senior nurse managing waiting in UTC was amazing, ensuring everyone wore masks to protect staff and others, asking any people who were not patients or carers to wait in cars to ensure no overcrowding. On arrival we’re told of wait time and my sons badly infected and swollen leg was swabbed, dressed and appropriate antibiotics dispensed. Nursing team and doctors were polite and efficient despite the challenges of rude patients and a full waiting room. Service was much better than we expected given the challenges they currently face, and great to see senior nurse managing the waiting area and patients and staff so well. Keep up the great work you are appreciated!

  6. Review titled Fantastic treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Susan Thompson - Posted on 16 December 2022

I had surgery for a broken toe in November, this resulted in three subsequent appointments at the Fracture clinic, twice to have my toe redressed and inspected for infection due to the wound sustained to my toe and a third on 15 December to have the wire removed from my toe and to mobilise me. Every appointment has been either on time or I’ve been seen before my scheduled time, the nurses have been absolutely lovely and very gentle and caring. My third appointment was firstly with a doctor who removed the wire, I was dreading the procedure expected some pain but I had absolutely none! Then I had three X-rays and finally a consultation with another doctor who showed me before and after photos of my badly broken toe, he gave me lots of good advice on aftercare, showering, driving etc and said he’d call me in four weeks time. How can I ask for more than that! As a human race we are all very quick to complain but not quick enough to compliment. I honestly couldn’t have received better care both at the Fracture Clinic and when I was being admitted for surgery! At the end of every appointment I was told to go to see a receptionist to book another appointment, they too were fantastic. Everyone has been absolutely outstanding and I’d like my thanks recorded and fed back to them please. Thank you all so much, Sue

  7. Review titled Credit to all staff

    by julietfk48 - Posted on 06 January 2023

I had a lot of trepidation before I started my chemo and didn't really know what to expect. However, live suite was comfortable and as relaxing as it could be. The treatment was timely and the staff would not have been more helpful, caring and attentive. They kept me informed throughout and I couldn't have any complaints. Certainly a better experience than I was expecting. Credit to all the staff.

  8. Review titled Ongoing problem

    by sarge73 - Posted on 24 March 2023

Treatment at Boston Hospital was spot on until my 4 treatment when my cannula came out of my vein and went into my hand tissue. Causing my use of my right hand to be very limited, mostly next to nothing. This problem is still ongoing after 5 months, and does not seem to be getting any better, and also due to this I have been told that work might not let me go back.

  9. Review titled Non-judgemental and genuine support

by MGJC - Posted on 20 December 2022

My mother has been diagnosed with a rare form of Leukaemia and both she and us as a family have received wonderful care and support as we have all done our best to come to terms with the diagnosis and then to begin to try to figure a way forward. The support has been non-judgemental and genuine.

  10. Review titled The whole experience was made positive by the staff there

    by decembernx68 - Posted on 21 December 2022

I had a womens health outpatient appointment. The staff were all incredible and an asset to the NHS. Communication prior, during and after the appointment was clear and reasurring. All staff acted with kindness, compassion and ensured my dignity was protected at all times. I was worried and concerned for the appointment but the whole experience was made positive by the staff there. Thank you.
