  1. Review titled Excellent medical care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 February 2023

Had occasion to take my wife to A&E in the early hours. Everyone from 111 staff to reception, initial nursing staff to doctors were fantastic. Medically superb. However, the cleanliness of the toilets was appalling. It was evident that nothing had been cleaned on our arrival and no sign of anyone being tasked to unblock the wc inspite of informing staff. Even the sink in one of the consulting rooms was full of dirty water. Come on managers, the medical professionals are working their socks off give them some support.

  2. Review titled Just so grateful

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I don't usually leave reviews. But this month my poor mother had a fall in the car park only to find she sustained a broken hip. The fast reaction of staff and attention from the a&e department and ward b7 was fantastic. This hasn't been her only visit in the last three months. But the staff on both admissions were brilliant. From the staff on reception, to the porters, nurses, doctors and all ancillary staff. My mother is still talking about all the wonderful care she was given. I know your job it's always easy but it is certainly appreciated by my family. Thank you & keep up the great work.

  4. Review titled First time here

Rated 1 star out of 5

I attended a pre operation assessment appointment yesterday, never been to this hospital before. Parking was surprisingly easy. Signage from car park to main building not good, 2 large building are visible from the car park. Inside signage was worse. A clear sign for core a and b then core a disappears. After being directed and redirected to 3 different desks im finally in the right place. After a very long wait I’m invited into a consulting room. It took nearly 2 hours to complete 2 forms. The reason it took so long is there nurse had no understanding of the form and was constantly being corrected by a colleague. I understand everyone has to learn by surely training on the meaning of the form should be given beforehand? Secondly the nurse spoke with a very very heavy accent and Im slightly hard of hearing and I could not understand a word she said. Prior to the visit I was asked if I needed an interpreter I said no but I really needed one to explain to me when that nurse was saying. There were multiple mistakes on the form which were corrected but Im seriously worried that whoever needs to act on the info will not be able to decipher it correctly. Next step x ray brilliant in and out in less than 10 minutes. Meanwhile my wait for fhe first if my 2 operations continues.

  5. Review titled Very uncaring and treating people like timewasters

Rated 1 star out of 5

I took my child with wrist injury and mean nurse was talking to us in bad manner. She rushed us out of hospital like my daughter's pain don't matter offering no advice or support. She upset me and my daughter and send us on away way to pharmacy ! How can you know if her wrist is not broken ? How can you mistreated a child in pain? Horrible lady. Should not be working in hospital.

  6. Review titled Superb department

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited following a referral from my GP as I’ve been experiencing breast pain. The staff were so caring and considerate with no stone left unturned. Also the admin staff deserve a mention as equally helpful. This dept deserves all the praise it can get and set a great example of where the NHS absolutely shines.

  7. Review titled Long wait for scan results

    by betanz93 - Posted on 30 November 2022

I had an appointment booked 12:20 at Peterborough ACU to find out results of a scan that needed looking at by the spinal centre at Cambridge. I waited 6 hours to see someone, to then be told that the results weren't back and they they didn't think the locum consultant could get access. I was told to wait and they will ring Cambridge. 1 hour later I was still waiting - told I would just have to wait. I left as I had been there over 7 hours. It cost me £9 in parking just to sit there all day. I have rung every day since for results and been told someone will ring me back. It is now Monday evening and no return call. It is awful follow up care, and totally not acceptable. It felt more like a cattle market than a clinic !!!

  8. Review titled Thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kayleigh & Ian - Posted on 16 October 2022

The ladies in both delivery suite & transitional care are beyond fabulous! I was induced on a Tuesday and stayed until Friday that week. All staff while being induced were lovely, kind and understanding. Explaining everything so I was comfortable. A special thanks to the midwives for safe arrival of my baby girl. Being moved to transitional care, I was looked after so well, even my partner too. The ladies took their time to speak to me, to get to know us as a new family. My wishes to try and breastfeed were helped by Breastfeeding lady who was there whenever I needed help (day or night) to learn how to latch on. The staff were there when I found it tough being in hospital and having no sleep after shock of quick labour. She was a god send! Nothing was too much trouble. It was my partners 40th while we were in the ward and the lovely nurses bought a slice of cake & sang happy birthday to him. These little things make a stressful time, so much more manageable. I felt in safe hands always- not matter what time of day/night. Considering you hear about the shortages of maternity staff (please don’t get me wrong you can see yourself) but not one person didn’t have time for any of the ladies on my ward. A massive thank you for all you do, you are little angels in disguise & the backbone of NHS. I will be eternally grateful!

I recently dislocated my shoulder and was taken to Peterborough Hospital. From the lady on reception, to the nurses, doctors and radiology department all the staff were caring, extremely friendly and simply fantastic. I couldn’t thank or recommend them enough. Thank you!

  10. Review titled Great staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 October 2022

The staff are lovely but how they manage to work under such ridiculous circumstances is a mystery, this system is laughable, I lost count how many times we were called, poked and ordered to various waiting areas. It was appendicitis, a very common condition, it took hours and hours, I think 19 hours to diagnose and a further 40 to operate.
