Thank you for this feedback. We are glad to hear that you and your partner found the two staff members in our Emergency Department to be so helpful to you. We are sorry that you observed behaviour that caused you to feel felt that these members of our team may be not being treated well by some of their colleagues, this is not the impression we would want any patient to have, and we hope that any incidents where they behaviour has been displayed towards any member of staff that is not in accordance with our Trust values have been addressed by the department. We will share your kind, and thoughtful, words with the senior team for the Emergency Department.

Dear Shaun, Thank you for leaving feedback following on from your recent attendance at our hospitals. We are sorry to hear of the time you waited to be seen and are saddened to hear that it was in a corridor this is not the care we want to provide. Unfortunately during the time of your attendance to ED the demand on the healthcare system was extremely high. We continue to work with our healthcare partners in Nottinghamshire to address ongoing increasing pressure within the hospital and emergency department. Best wishes Patient experience and engagement for NUH

  3. Review titled Great Practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My cataract surgery was successfully completed at qmc. My cataract is exceedingly dense, the doctor said before the surgery, and he gave me a 10–20 failure rate. I nevertheless proceed with it. My procedure, performed by the same specialist, took less than twenty minutes to remove and replace with a new lens. Gave me little eye drop bottles and medical instructions on how to take care of my eye. My eyesight is improving after three days, and on the fifth day, I can see well. I continue to use eye drops and to cover my eyes at night with hard plastic. Overall, I was quite pleased with my vision and I thank my doctor at qmc who did made sure that he will make it a successful operation. Thank again qmc and the eye surgery team.

  5. Review titled wonderful care in the HASU

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by adam fowle - Posted on 22 October 2024

I have read a lot about the problems of the NHS in recent years, however my experience over the past ten days could not be more at odds with the publicity the organisation receives. I recently had the misfortune of suffering from a Stroke and consequently staying for five days in the Highly Acute Stroke Unit at the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham. From the moment I entered the A&E department until I was discharged five days later the care and kindness I received was just outstanding. The team that the Professor in charge of the has built in this department managed to combine calm and reassuring professionalism with exceptional kindness. Whilst I regard myself as unfortunate to have had a Stroke I equally regard myself as very fortunate to be treated by the Professor and her wider team. This care has continued semlessly since I returned home. Within two days of my return the Community Stroke team have visited me and a plan to aid my recovery is already in place. I have often heard the expression that satisfaction is the difference between expectations and outcomes, in my particular case the outcome has well and truly exceeded my expectations. It is inevitable that an organisation as vast as the NHS will have its difficulties but we could help the teams that work in it if we took the many opportunities we have to congratulate and thank the teams that provide exceptional care and kindness more often. Adam Fowle Nottinghamshire.

  6. Review titled Nurses are too noisy

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lotty - Posted on 06 October 2024

Been to D34, found the ward was a bit loud, nurses are too loud. Patients can’t truly rest because of the noise, nurses chitchatting very loudly. Even when they are checking other patients, I understand they need to be jolly to be more approachable but they need to put in mind to be gentle and respectful to other patients who are resting.

  7. Review titled Nurses very unreliable.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Leny - Posted on 02 October 2024

Not just me but other parents started to get annoyed. Over heard a lady a bit upset talking to support worker “My grandchild need assistance to go to the toilet, we’ve been told to wait for a minute, but an hour later no one came. “ Nurses are very unreliable, D34 and D35, they hover every patients and parents request under the rug until their handover for next shift arrived. My son just had surgery. He was transferred from recovery room to the ward at 5.30pm. Nurses know that he needs immediate care. They hover around pretending to be busy, I’m noticing some of the nurses should not be on this field of work but in an office because they are more likely to do paperworks than assisting patients. A student nurse came to checked his numbers. My son needs immediate assistance and medicines and fluids, nurses are no where to be found because they are handing over. It’s more important for them to end their shift and pass the responsibilities to the next shift.
