  1. Review titled Lazy accepting patience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 09 July 2023

My child had a face injury. And we went to Middlesex hospital. A Doctor saw us and referred us. He called this department they told him we are accepted. We had to come Northwick Park hospital and we should be seen when we come. When we arrived we had to book in (even though we were told we were booked). When we saw the nurse she called them to confirm the booking. They said no, the patient is to see a A&E doctor and do assesment again to be seen by them so they refused. There is no common sense, this why I would straight come to A&E rather than any other place. Because the system does not work. When you are told you are booked, you are not. When you are told the department accepted you, you are not. When you are promised (even in writing) that you just have to turn up and that department will see you. They will not. Thanks A

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry you and your child did not have the experience you both should of had when visiting our Urgent Care and Accident and Emergency departments. I understand how frustrating this must of been. I have passed your feedback directly onto the services involved and they wanted to apologise for the additional distress caused to you and your child. There is no “quick” route into the A&E and we are sorry if you were lead to believe or promised differently. All patients presenting to the A&E Department are seen in order of clinical priority. This includes those who are asked to attend via another hospital Urgent Care and/or via London Ambulance Service. In A&E, we see all patients as quickly as possible and this does depend on activity levels and acuity of waiting patients. Of course, we know how challenging it can be for young children waiting and we do this on board and try our very best to avoid extended waiting times, where we can. I understand if you would like this looked into further, however, as this is anonymous platform, I will provide you with our PALS details to get in contact with. They can be emailed on: LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net or called on: 020 8869 5118. I am sorry again for your experience and do hope that your child is recovering well. Best wishes, Leanne Fernandes - Patient Experience and Engagement Lead

I came in by ambulance. They were amazing guys. I was seen immediately and had tests. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. Got drinks and a sandwich brought to me as it was quite a wait for results. They were so busy but remained cheerful and very attentive. Even took me in chair to pick up point for my cab to go home. They are hero’s.

  4. Review titled Very bad staff

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 July 2023

My husband was injured and wanted first aid as a metal felt on his head and need some stitches… their waiting time is so many hours and they didn’t leave me to accompany him and told me to stay out. I told them I am a pregnant woman and I can’t stay out for long but this people are very rude… they allowed some people to come in as visitors and some left outside

  5. Review titled Worse and traumatic experience ever

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Monica pit - Posted on 06 June 2024

Hi. A year ago I gave birth to my daughter. I still think about that and I can not take it out of my mind even if I try hard. A couple of days was my daughter's first b-day and I still feel the trauma. I arrived at the hospital abouth 10:30 pm with 3cm dilatation. They put me in a room, alone, live me there for a couple of hours, even if screamed for help,(I could not reach the emergency button) they came to bring me in another room to give birth and I ended up giving birth in the middle of the room , in s wheelchair. I screamd for help, for epidural,at least for some calmant but in vain. I'll never forget the panic and the trauma I felt when my daughter was pushing herself thru the birth canal and I could do nothing but give birth there...

  6. Review titled Care in A&E after a fall

by Faithful friend - Posted on 20 July 2023

My elderly friend was brought into A&E in the early hours at the end of June, after a fall in her Care Home. During that day I was overwhelmed by the quality of care and clockwork organisation of the department - like a well oiled machine. I am aware of the following staff who all played their parts with competence and efficiency: A & E nurses and doctors, porters, radiographers, radiologist, occupational health , falls assessor, catering trolley driver, cleaners and a MaxFax surgeon. These staff attended to her in a seamless stream as she was thoroughly assessed and her broken arm etc was diagnosed, set and plastered. Each person showed such care and treated her like the stalwart individual that she is.

  7. Review titled Still in pain

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 July 2023

Visited ENT in June 2023 . There was a very long wait in reception and then my appointed felt rushed. Came hoping to find out what was causing the pain and ringing in my ear but didn't really get any answers and instead had some wax removed and told to see GP if necessary. So I came to ENT in pain and then left in pain but still no wiser as to what is causing the pain or how to stop it. Not what I hoped for or expected.

Appalling, a long, wait to receive prescribed medication. They should be a better way to keep patients informed of the delays. Everyone should be treated with respect.

Dear A Nonimus, I have spoken directly to the service and the below is what they have directly responded: Thank you for your review n which you raised concerns about the length of time you had to wait for your medication during your visit or prior to discharge from the hospital. I am sorry that you experienced such long delays, your feedback is valuable on how we improve our services to out-patients and patients being discharged from the ward. The dispensary team are currently reviewing dispensing processes for both patients waiting for medications on the wards and those being seen in an out-patient clinic as the Trust prepares for the implementation of a new electronic prescribing system. This includes preparing the medications in advance of patients coming from out-patient clinics to collect their medications from pharmacy. Your feedback has been shared with the dispensary team to allow staff to reflect on their practices and how to improve ways of working. Once again thank you for taking the time to contact the Trust to raise your concerns over the waiting times and I hope the systems we are putting in place will prevent future patients experiencing similar delays in obtaining their medications. Naina Patel -Lead Pharmacist If you would like to speak to PALS about this and give your patient details then they can be contacted on LNWH-tr.PALS@nhs.net or 0208 869 5118 Many thanks, Leanne Fernandes - Patient Experience and Engagement Lead

  10. Review titled Fantastic service on a busy evening

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Stuart Wyse - Posted on 09 April 2024

Referred by Central Middlesex Hospital. Stone in kidney which had passed through by the time I was discharged. Long wait on busy Sunday evening. Staff were very friendly and caring and they really wanted to help. Blood, urine tests all came back quickly along with CT scan results. Could not fault at all.
