  1. Review titled First class service from extremely busy Dept

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2023

My husband was taken ill at a restaurant on Christmas Day and brought to the emergency Dept by ambulance . The treatment and tests that he received in the Dept by all medical staff was first rate , he was referred to ACU Dept for further cardiac tests etc , also wonderful service by everyone in that Dept , he is still waiting for the results from cardiology Dept which we are hoping to receive very soon , I have nothing but praise for all the care that was given to my 83 year old husband and thank your staff from the bottom of my heart .

  2. Review titled Very bad experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Ana Iulia Tuglea - Posted on 02 December 2022

I presented myself last night at 6.30pm at Accident and Emergency Unit with a piece of glass in my eye. After i spend 2 hours and a half in a queue finally a triage nurse called my name just to be told there is no eye specialist and they cannot do anything for me, not even a pill or an eye drop. Very disappointed, i have no words, i went there because it was an emergency , why waste someone time just to tell them to go home? Would not be easier to tell patients from the beginning we don't offer eye care please use that time to go in a different place to get it sorted.

  3. Review titled Lack of Mask Wearing

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 January 2023

On my last visit to the hospital the majority of staff, patients and visitors were not wearing masks. I was one of the few people wearing a mask. Please can the hospital trust do something to address this problem for the sake of vulnerable patients who have to attend the hospital?

Thank you for taking the time to leave this feedback. I am sorry to hear of your discomfort being in the hospital. All staff are currently working inline with the Trust's mask wearing policy, this is based on guidance from NHS England. Staff no longer need to wear a face mask in all offices and shared spaces (including those in clinical areas), but should continue to wear a fluid resistant mask in clinical areas. 5. Review titled Very poor service in A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 February 2024

My wife was pregnant last year and she had lots of pain and some bleeding during the first trimester. We went there on a Friday morning and had to wait for 11 hours and they only gave her paracetamol at the end. There is no priority care for serious patients and no separate care for pregnant ladies. All have to wait for those long hours. After that, we came home but the pain didn't stop. The next day I took her again and she was in constant pain but still, they gave her 2 more paracetamol and asked us to wait and even didn't allow me to sit inside the waiting area with my wife. I kept asking to have a look but they ignored me most of the time, My wife had too much pain and after 4 hours they checked her and by that time she had lots of bleeding and incidentally had a miscarriage. We lost our child who looked fine from the scan taken just 2 days ago. They are very careless and I believe there may be many more such cases. I don't understand why don't they refer the pregnancy cases to the specific maternity department and ask them to wait for long hours in a&e. They have a separate department for maternity but still send cases to careless a&e waiting. I am very disappointed and my wife could not recover from this trauma for many months. Many underdeveloped countries have much better care than this developed country.

  6. Review titled Efficient and positive experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gemma Hughes - Posted on 23 November 2022

I brought my dad into A&E early on Saturday morning (19th Nov), following the recommendation from 111. Despite it being a busy time, he was processed and seen within an hour (he was evidently unwell with diabetes), and provided with a bed. His issues were diagnosed by the nurses quickly and he was moved into the ward as soon as a bed was available that afternoon. I was really impressed with the care he received, and the friendliness of the staff. In addition I found the hospital was really clean. Thank you!

Can you please use token system I can't understand how longer people need to wait.if 40 people in the room and doctor takes 6-7 min then also it's take 4 hour. But we are hear from 6 hour I can't understand why waiting time is too long. kids are not wait that longer. If they are sick they need to take rest.

  8. Review titled Bad experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Relative - Posted on 14 November 2022

Today I visited trauma/orthopaedic clinic 4. My husband’s appointment was at 14:10 and when I politely asked nurse at 14:40 how long they are running late she told me to sit down and said “we are not running late”. I feel that patients should be informed when service is running late. I found the nurse very unprofessional and rude. I don’t understand how we’re they running late as only 3 patients were in the waiting and that includes my husband.

  9. Review titled Caring OT Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gemma Hughes - Posted on 23 November 2022

I met OT with my father on Jonson Ward today (23rd Nov). Following his fall he now needs modifications to his home, and a care plan. The OT took such care in taking us through the options, and involving my father in the decision making. It is such a relief to know that this care plan will be put in place for when he leaves the hospital. I was really impressed by the proactiveness of the team as we didn’t have to request the assessment. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this lovely feedback. I hope that your dad gets all the modifications fitted to help make his life easier. We offer patients and relatives the chance to record patient story videos to share in trust executive meetings and I think it would be a great opportunity to sine on the important work that the OT team do. 10. Review titled Absolutely disappointed

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 January 2023

I have been absolutely disappointed by the lack of urgency and series of errors regarding my mum's condition. I have been constantly chasing for the doctors to give me updates regarding her prognosis, and I have been chasing for appointments to be scheduled. Due to an error that was spotted by the doctor a few days later, we were phoned up to come to A&E and had to wait for 7 hours because they missed something on the CT Scan! She was due for surgery and the day prior, we were told to come to the hospital because they missed something again! There have been a series of errors which is disappointing and led to severe anxiety! I am appalled with the service.
