  2. Review titled Like something from a third world country

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 September 2024

I was sent to ED after being taken unwell in another department of the hospital. From the off, the staff were dismissive and disinterested. I was streamed to the "Front Door", which meant I was sat in a lobby with about 20 other patients, without access to water or a toilet for 4 hours, and able to overlook and oversee the staff having confidential conversations about other patients at the desk, openly arguing about the management of the other patients, and become increasingly confused and chaotic about which patients they were actually responsible for and where they were. The consultant who saw me didn't listen to me explaining what had happened, and didn't ask any follow up questions. The nurse who took my observations and ECG forgot to actually measure my blood pressure. When my blood results were back, I was told in the middle of the lobby (and in front of other patients) that my test results were fine and that I could go. I was concerned about one specific cause for my symptoms - the consultant laughed at me and didn't answer my questions. I was sent home tachycardic, hypotensive and dizzy, without any cause for my symptoms being found or without having a plan. My poor GP will have to pick this up. A truly terrible experience - I'd honestly advise anyone needing ED in Norwich to travel to JPUH or QEH rather than putting themselves through this hell.

  3. Review titled No longer terrified of procedure

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Dave - Posted on 23 August 2024

A number of times before this year I’d tried to have the camera down into my gut in the end I’d given up and had an X-ray to my relief. But this year I’d had to go back and the thought of it terrified me. But from the initial appointment being booked all the way through the appointment I had such amazing support and reassurance that I completed the examination and added to this no longer fear the whole procedure. This is a testament to the professionalism of the staff from start to finish who got me through this procedure. I now know that if I ever need it again I’ve nothing to be concerned about and am extremely grateful to the whole department for this.

  4. Review titled Brilliant Care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anita Somerville - Posted on 16 August 2024

Exceptional care throughout my visit to minors with a broken wrist. Very helpful receptionist and all the nursing and radiology staff very without fault. The care and professionalism was amazing. Everything about my treatment was explained before and during the procedures. I visited the department on Monday 12th in the afternoon. Thank you everyone who had a part in my care.

I attended the TIA clinic after they were very helpful getting me an appointment. The whole procedure was kind and efficient. And it is reassuring if I have to to A&E there will be no delay. A good department at the N&N

  7. Review titled Shout out to the staff

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Met some wonderful staff that were kind, caring and really took the time to ensure my wife felt comfortable when delivering our first born. Time and patience are rare to find these days but you can find them with the staff at Blakeney ward.

  9. Review titled Expected more

by Anonymous - Posted on 11 June 2024

i was in the childrens ed for problems considering my mental health. i belive that due to the fact i told the nurses i did not feel safe at home, they thought it would be okay to leave me unstable and unaware of what was happening with my care for 5 hours. at the time of my arrival, i was in need of urgent support, which i did not receive. they prioritesed many other people before me, which yes i understand some people may have larger problems, however i dont appreciate being almost completely ignored for 4 hours out of my 5 hour stay. i was only allowed home due to the fact i was complaining.
