  1. Review titled Excellent caring service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the Newton Abbot hospital this morning. Everyone I came in contact with treated me with such care. You should all be extremely proud of the service you are providing it is second to none. Feeling very battered after only a couple of hours sleep I came to realise the love care and compassion we associate with the NHS is alive and well in Newton Abbot. Well done to all the staff and thank you for caring.

  2. Review titled Disappointing

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I think the staff here lost the passion for there job years ago . It was like they couldn’t even be bothered, they wouldn’t even do what my GP sent me there for in the first place , she actually shrugged her shoulders at me and sent me in my way . I’m still none the wiser .

  3. Review titled Attitude

Rated 2 stars out of 5

My boyfriend came in as he had glass in his hand , first nurses he saw were lovely however the last one we saw was extremely rude and made us both more stressed . My boyfriend did not have a nhs number which I appreciate is not ideal however was then shouted at for this and made us feel like we shouldn’t have been there . I appreciate that they were extremely busy and over whelmed however when in a situation like this the last thing we needed was a nurse throwing attitude and yelling at us . She lacked compassion of any sort .

Knowledgeable and helpful reception staff. Triage nurse assessed my issue, prescribed and dispensed the necessary medication, and I was on my way. Greatly appreciated, many thanks.

  5. Review titled A professional, efficient service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

This is an extremely well- run service. Waiting times are clearly displayed in a clean and light waiting area. The process from triage to x-ray to being seen by a nurse was smooth. Staff at each step were professional and caring in their approach. I felt they communicated very well by clearly explaining the diagnosis and next steps for treatment. I was provided with a sling and pain relief before I left. I really cannot fault this service. I’ve attended twice previously and had similar experiences. Sincere thanks.

Once I got passed the receptionist who was cold and not very inviting, the CT scan staff where amazing 🤩. They made it so easy and comfortable visit. The hospital is clean, and I would definitely recommend it to other people

  7. Review titled 4 hr stay / Lacking in standard of care

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 March 2024

Was waiting an hour to be triaged and a further 3 hours to be treated When total wait had exceeded 4 hours I approached a member of staff. Staff appeared angry frustrated and tired and this was then directed at patients in their tone and manner. The treatment was also lacking sent for an infected wound I was sent home with a pack of antibiotics and told to dress it myself! Not impressed after all that time. The hospital has no neurodiverse policy and the environment is very artificially lit and for long periods this wears you down. The waiting area appeared run down and in the 4 hours I was there I did not see one member of cleaning staff. I left feeling worse than I arrived.

Went in with a sore throat and health anxiety. It wasn't a long wait, and the nurse was exceptionally kind and reassuring. Thank you so much.

  9. Review titled Missed opportunity

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I visited the Urgent Review Centre on a Saturday morning after being advised to do so by the 111 online facility. The staff were friendly and the wait was not too long. However, the advice I was given was to ring my GP surgery on Monday about my swollen leg. I should have been given a blood test to check for a blood clot. It meant it wasn't diagnosed properly for a week and I could have started blood thinner medication several days earlier.
