  1. Review titled Lack of compassion, rude, blunt, borderline unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

From being reviewed in the delivery suite triage to being in the Kent ward post unplanned c section apart from a handful of people I found everyone incredible rude and lacked compassion. Many of the people that worked within these departments were either very short or blunt with me or whenever I asked questions looked at me with a nasty look like they couldn’t be bothered. Everything else I have to say was good quality care but just the staff and the attitude they have is really letting them down

  2. Review titled Terrible hospital just appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

I had the unfortunate to have to stay in medway for 14 days ...the service was awful ...the only meal was at midday and the evening one was just an awful cup of soup ..I had my Daughter bring food in for me because the food they did give us was awful I wouldn't have given it to my dogs ...my sheets were not changed for 4 days and the nurses took over three quarters of an hour. To answer an elderly ladies buyer,, I once had to ask for a kamode when she bought it she didn't help me stand up and when I managed to stand she was going to pull my bottom half down in full view of the other patients and thier visitors..when I asked her to pull the bed curtains she said what for ..I replied I do not want everyone to see my backside and would she want people watching her sit on a kamode...one nurse when she was helping me wash said that I smell. I felt really awful ...I will never ever stay at .medway hospital again ..and I don't care what I have wrong with me ..

  3. Review titled Avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Lori L - Posted on 07 March 2023

Got to a&e at around 1pm, queued up for about an hour to then be sent to Medoc. 4 hours later Medoc GP saw me only to then wonder why I was sent to him in the first place, was then taken upstairs to see a surgeon who basically tried to send me home straight away with a referral to a breast clinic but the appointment would have been in 2 weeks. When I asked why I’m being sent home without anyone even checking my condition or any medication the surgeon proceeded to tell me I’m fine to go home as my obs and bloods were fine. At this point I had not had a blood test at all, he clearly just wanted to get rid of me as quick as possible. When I told him I hadn’t even had any blood taken he kind of mumbled something and told me to go back to the waiting room for a nurse to come and take my blood. Not once did I receive an explanation or apology as to why he just blatantly lied to my face and told me my bloods were fine when they hadn’t even been done. Worst care I’ve ever received in my life. 7 hours later and I’m still in the waiting room in one of the wards in excruciating pain waiting for someone to do my bloods.

  4. Review titled Caring Staff.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Was taking to Victory 1, Chatham Maritime, with a broken ankle on the Friday and went home on the following Wednesday. In my time there I was treated with nothing but kindness. All the staff in the ward while working under pressure some times in extreme circumstances with some very challenging patients. Its not perfect by a long way in my view but I could not fault the treatment I received.

  5. Review titled poor treatment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I feel that when i have visited the department and have asked that the anestetic drops put into my eyes were not strong enough after telling the nurses that i have a very low pain threshhold and the needles put into my eyes were very painfull , that is why i have refused further treatment as i feel these are not profeshional doctors , and i have been given the poorest of treatment ,n as i have asked could the hospital bring in a specialist to see me and who listens to my veiws and could oversee my treatments.

  6. Review titled Caring and Kind

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Sitting in a ward of older men with my husband who had just been put on end of life care. The men some of which may have some sort of dementia. The abuse that some of the nurses are getting is off the scale. The names they are being called and the constant questions being shouted at them. I know it’s the disease that causes it and not probably how these people would speak. The nurses never get angry, they are patient and always respond in a kind way with soft calm voices. They try to accommodate their every wish. They are living angels . Just needed to say we would be lost without them. It’s not just a job to them, it’s a caring vocation. My husband died but they cared for him during his last days. Thank you

  8. Review titled Outstanding

Rated 4 stars out of 5

    by J Richards - Posted on 24 February 2023

I was admitted to Medway Hospital A & E for pneumonia recently. The ambulance arrived within 15 minutes which I was surprised at due to the reported delays this service is experiencing. The paramedics were very polite, friendly and professional. Also, at A & E I received plenty of attention and excellent care. All the staff that treated me were very professional and efficient. I was transferred to HDU for 6 days. The ward was extremely clean and well run. All the staff were very caring and professional who went above and beyond to ensure the care I received was outstanding. Doctors, nurses, housekeeping, physios in fact the whole team on HDU were wonderful. I cannot fault this amazing team. Please pass my thanks on to all the staff as they made my visit a very positive experience.

  9. Review titled Rude

Saw a woman at the a and e who didn't introduce herself had no idea who she was a nurse or something like that .... She referred to me as an "it" to her colleague and constantly referred to me as she .... If "she " can't be bothered to speak nicely to patients then maybe "it" could find a different career

  10. Review titled Purposefully ignore you

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Betsy - Posted on 20 April 2023

I was rushed into A&E back in January/February time for severe pelvic pain and was scheduled for an ultrasound and given medication. I went to my ultrasound and the person doing my ultrasound was cold and rude and made me uncomfortable throughout my visit. She told me that a doctor will phone me in 2 weeks with my results. It’s been about 3 months and I have heard nothing!!! Which means I cannot get my next steps in place to help try to find my problems!! Every time I phone they purposefully hang up the phone!!! It rings a couple times then completely cuts off to voicemail! Disgusting service!!! They also have not released the results to my GP so they cannot view them and tell me either!!!
