  1. Review titled Children’s A&E

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Becca - Posted on 10 May 2023

Children’s A&E was an utter disgrace when I took my son, got there and was not even assets by a nurse for over 2 hours and was told it was due to an emergency ( that’s what A&E is for) they then sent us round to medocc which seems like they do with everyone. After waiting for 3 hours at medocc we was seen and told we needed to go back to A&E as they should have originally kept him there. The children’s A&E waiting room was absolutely filthy food, drink and empty cans all over the floor a chocking hazard for any young babies that were waiting. It would be easier to drive all the way to Maidstone if you have an emergency as Medway do not have 1 once of care in them.

  2. Review titled Wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Broken foot a breathless. - Posted on 18 May 2023

I was admitted through A&E having collapsed through shortness of breath. I could not have had such a caring treatment and quick diagnosis. This was NHS at its best. Every one I met in Majors and McCulloch ward have been so kind and caring and gone to great lengths to explain and care. That includes all staff from the cleaners, porters, nursing staff, physios, scanners and all those I cannot name. They treated me and my son with such care and patiently answering all our queries. We all moan about our healthcare but believe me that when you really need them they are there. Thank you doesn't seen enough

  3. Review titled Discharging let’s the hospital down

Rated 4 stars out of 5

I was on the cardiology ward which was fantastic , had great professional staff who looked after me . Unfortunately, I was discharged at 10 AM and I am still sitting on my bed waiting for a letter and drugs hours later and still I wait. I am told that I will be lucky to get out before 5pm ! I can see why patients have to wait 2 days or more in either A&E or a non cardiac ward just to be cared for . Just in my ward of 4 beds , 2 of us are waiting to be discharged which would free up the beds if it was run more efficiently

  4. Review titled Fabulous Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Came to the department 04/12/23 with anxiety through the roof. Months of stress and concern was eased as soon as i entered the room. The three ladies, 2 nurses and a Dr where outstanding, caring empathetic and professional. They instantly helped with any issues, listened and explained thoroughly the procedure. They really are earth angles and i thank them for their care and patience

My mother attended the Rapid access clinic for elder people to have an iron infusion, she was accompanied by my elderly father. The care she received was kind and efficient, prompt treatment and both of my parents felt well cared for and safe Thank you

  6. Review titled Staff were caring and informed us each step

    by attendanthg99 - Posted on 29 June 2023

Our son was seen very quickly in Paediatric A&E and immediately started on IVABXS with a CT scan, all staff were caring and informed us each step. Transfer to Penguin ward and then escalated to Kings hospital for surgery, all happened to ensure our son received prompt treatment for his acute illness. We cannot thank them enough for starting his treatment and helping save his life by diagnosis so fast.

  7. Review titled Lack of compassion, rude, blunt, borderline unprofessional

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2023

From being reviewed in the delivery suite triage to being in the Kent ward post unplanned c section apart from a handful of people I found everyone incredible rude and lacked compassion. Many of the people that worked within these departments were either very short or blunt with me or whenever I asked questions looked at me with a nasty look like they couldn’t be bothered. Everything else I have to say was good quality care but just the staff and the attitude they have is really letting them down

  8. Review titled Terrible hospital just appalling

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 June 2023

I had the unfortunate to have to stay in medway for 14 days ...the service was awful ...the only meal was at midday and the evening one was just an awful cup of soup ..I had my Daughter bring food in for me because the food they did give us was awful I wouldn't have given it to my dogs ...my sheets were not changed for 4 days and the nurses took over three quarters of an hour. To answer an elderly ladies buyer,, I once had to ask for a kamode when she bought it she didn't help me stand up and when I managed to stand she was going to pull my bottom half down in full view of the other patients and thier visitors..when I asked her to pull the bed curtains she said what for ..I replied I do not want everyone to see my backside and would she want people watching her sit on a kamode...one nurse when she was helping me wash said that I smell. I felt really awful ...I will never ever stay at .medway hospital again ..and I don't care what I have wrong with me ..

  9. Review titled Avoid at all costs

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Lori L - Posted on 07 March 2023

Got to a&e at around 1pm, queued up for about an hour to then be sent to Medoc. 4 hours later Medoc GP saw me only to then wonder why I was sent to him in the first place, was then taken upstairs to see a surgeon who basically tried to send me home straight away with a referral to a breast clinic but the appointment would have been in 2 weeks. When I asked why I’m being sent home without anyone even checking my condition or any medication the surgeon proceeded to tell me I’m fine to go home as my obs and bloods were fine. At this point I had not had a blood test at all, he clearly just wanted to get rid of me as quick as possible. When I told him I hadn’t even had any blood taken he kind of mumbled something and told me to go back to the waiting room for a nurse to come and take my blood. Not once did I receive an explanation or apology as to why he just blatantly lied to my face and told me my bloods were fine when they hadn’t even been done. Worst care I’ve ever received in my life. 7 hours later and I’m still in the waiting room in one of the wards in excruciating pain waiting for someone to do my bloods.

  10. Review titled Caring Staff.

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by John Boness - Posted on 06 April 2023

Was taking to Victory 1, Chatham Maritime, with a broken ankle on the Friday and went home on the following Wednesday. In my time there I was treated with nothing but kindness. All the staff in the ward while working under pressure some times in extreme circumstances with some very challenging patients. Its not perfect by a long way in my view but I could not fault the treatment I received.
