  1. Review titled Very efficient and friendly staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lesley - Posted on 14 March 2024

I attended today 15 March 2024 for a blood test and was greeted by friendly staff who even though I was early made me very welcome. I have difficulty with blood tests and the staff today were kind and very efficient! I only wish I could have all my blood tests taken here. Thank you.

  2. Review titled Unhappy

A&E appears to be a shambles. Visited twice in a week. What could and should have been short visits turned out to take hours. First visit, by amazing ambulance staff for broken humerus took hours of being moved around and left in corridors to be told only 1 doctor in and could not have an X-ray until I had seen one. When we saw the doctor everything happened quickly. Second visit again hours to see a doctor who was more concerned about broken arm then what I went in for which was bad swelling to low arm legs and feet. To sit again for hours to see orthopaedic doctor who seemed very put out when told arm was ok but swelling problem to finally be told tablets I had been put on by Meddoc should not be taken together and the fact I had been told on first visit by a nurse to sleep sitting up and not lie down until a visit in two weeks time was probably with legs. 3 calls to Meddoc 6.5 hours or so later I was sent home and told to go to bed support arm on pillow and stop taking a tablet. What a waste of time for us and the hospital

  3. Review titled Abandoned

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I was sent to Medway as emergency however got 2 phone calls from my GP and another hospital saying they didn’t know where I was and I was picked up in an ambulance and put in emergency ward then I was sent to 3 different departments done 3 urine samples and blood tests and waited at this hospital for 11 hours for a doctor to tell me that I’m just inflamed somewhere and they don’t know where and sent me home in pain this no medication at all. Then told me to go for a ultrasound on the following day when it could have been done in the 11 hours I sat there having no information Then the following morning a nurse has called me to ask if I’m ok and I told her what happens she said I shouldn’t have been sent home with nothing This hospital has no communication at all and some of the staff were rude and not compassion at all to what was going on

  4. Review titled Consultant was so caring

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had the pleasure to be treated by an orthopaedic Consultant. He took time to listen to me. Showed he my x rays and explained I need a total knee replacement in both knees. I have not met such a personable Consultant he is a great asset to the hospital and I feel safe under my future care and planned operations.

  5. Review titled change to a&e needed

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Sarah - Posted on 27 February 2024

such a shame, our baby had a high temperature of 39.9. took him to a&e, the nurse checked one of his ears and said he doesn’t have a temperature why did you bring him here making me feel like I was exaggerating about my baby’s health. i asked her to check the other ear and yes he did in fact have a high temperature 39.5 she sent us to medoc waited 6 hours to be seen (he is 8 months old) was in the room 5 minutes with a doctor who didn’t seem to care. i told him my concerns and he replied ok then. 3 other parents before us walked out and went to another hospital. My son ended up with tonsillitis. They need a separate room for children. I understand they are extremely busy but for a baby to wait 6 hours with a high temp, being sick and not taking fluids was shocking to me. I asked reception about a wait time and they replied, sorry we don’t know so we can’t help. the nurse in the children’s ward needed to be way more polite she was quite abrupt and even said ok you can leave now and go downstairs, then turned and faced the computer, very rude for a professional

  8. Review titled Lack of beds on wards

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 22 February 2024

After attending A and E was advised a bed on a ward was required. Spent first two nights on a trolley in the corridor outside childrens emergency department.the corridors were full of adults waiting for beds on a ward. There was no privacy, parents with sick children passing all the time.most of the staff were doing their best in over crowded and very hot conditions.Medway Maritime hospital needs to be expanded to cope with the increase in the population due to the extensive house building in the last few years. How the staff manage on a daily basis to work in these conditions is amazing and I applaud them

  10. Review titled Absolute shambles of a place.

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2024

Dirty, shambolic, no one answers their phone, if you can leave a message, no one calls you back. I wrote a letter in the end. Finally had a CT scan eight weeks ago, not heard a word…. Five months since I first became ill.
