Review titled Pathetic experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 March 2023
I had a severe swelling with abscess formation in the middle finger of my left hand in Jan 2023 and it increased with severe pain and swelling on 09 Jan 2023. The infection was increasing. I was suggested to go to ae . I went to ae Medway Maritime Hospital around 4.30-5 pm and waited till 10 pm but no one even triaged or did initial diagnosis of my condition. All this while the pain and swelling was increasing in my finger. I went to counter and enquired several times about triage or at least initial consultation but they were not responsive and asked me to wait. I could see there was no proper triage and efficient process to keep the patients queues moving. Some co-patients seemed to wait since morning 10 am. And this was ae, Serious pathetic medical facilities especially Medway kent region. I have seen it deteriorating over the period of time,I had consulted ae in East Sussex few times, they were more prompt in catering to the patients and trying to treat them on time. If such is the state of conditions of ae at Medway Maritime hospital or Kent nhs hospitals, not sure how the patients are surviving, seriously we need to think how to improve it and take necessary actions to improve the patient experience, communication, process and treatment to the patients.

Review titled A lovely experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Beryl Longstaff - Posted on 24 January 2023
Attended for an echocardiogram. The staff were so warm and friendly and quietly efficient I was put at ease from the moment of arrival. I was seen promptly, everything explained, couldn't fault it. Appreciated now I'm 91! Pleased to see a department where mask wearing (staff/patients) is necessary. Thank you all.

Review titled CT appointment
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Donald Simpson - Posted on 18 January 2023
My appointment for my CT scan was tonight at 7:10pm and I was seen 10 minutes early by the friendly Technician and scanned. Throughout my time there all staff were friendly, efficient, professional and patient. This shining example of the NHS is tribute to the dedication of the members of this department. Thank you, you know who you are.

Review titled Great care for my little boy
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Victoria Jarvis - Posted on 17 December 2022
Thankyou ever so much for taking great care of my 7month old. He got quite stressed at one point and the nurse went above and beyond to help us. The dr came in calmly and interacted with my son to reassure him. I don’t know how they cope under the pressure everyday, but you are amazing, thanks again x

Review titled Excellent Service and Support
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah Springall - Posted on 02 January 2023
On 23rd December, I took my daughter to the children’s a&e department. She had burnt her hand on our gas stove while helping to cook dinner. As soon as we come into the department we were helped straight away, water therapy was given and lots of care and attention. We attended the department two more times over the course of the week for redressing. There was a lovely nurse who helped us both times and was fantastic with my daughter. I know I can’t say any names of the nurses who helped, but everyone who helped us each time, was polite, friendly and so caring. They all went above and beyond to help and am so grateful for the care my daughter received. There’s a nurse in particular we see twice, she was just lovely! Caring and kind and excellent at bandaging! Thank you so much, I hope this review reaches the kind nurses that helped. As all too often we see negative comments. Would highly recommend this department! Happy new year!

on dec 9th 2022 mum was taken on to this ward , she was looked after very well, I was informed of all her treatment , the staff were outstanding, yes they were busy, but they had time for everyone. I had a call in the early hours , by the ward manager saying mum had taken a turn , when I arrived at the ward the staff had time to look after me and when mum passed they were all so very kind to which im very grateful. they allowed me time and I was never rushed , wonderful staff , I hope they get to hear how happy i was with everyone thank you

Review titled Communication not exist

Supposed to have inducted delivery on 18th as baby was on big side. Due date was on 24. On 18 gel was placed to induct delivery,3 days later said that still no bed available so stayed another 24hrs. Next day they informed that for at least 2 days more nothing is planned. It's a joke, it will be after due date when on scan they clearly informed tha it can't wait for so long. Moreover baby should be checked at least every 6 hours but it's checked only once in 24hrs. First they are saying it have to be inducted before due date and later on its happening after due date because of their fault. On top of that no one is sharing any information, maybe only one midwife. I can understand that ward is busy but why they are planning something what is not happening.

Turning up for my appointment 15 minutes early the staff seemed to have no clue what was going on and had lost notes of various patients including mine didn’t seem to be expecting me here at all just told to take a seat for 45 mins I have painful varicose veins would of been great to actually be seen at appointment time Very disappointed There are 8 members of staff all standing around chatting in the hall way and patients are waiting in a que and giggling about drinking vodka Not very good people skills everyone is upset and frustrated staff seem to be oblivious

Review titled Amazing experience
Rated 5 stars out of 5

After spending 4 hours in another A&E with son who had excessive nose bleed following surgery 24 hours earlier in another hospital, was told we needed to go to Medway Maritime Hospital for ENT consult as this was not available. Seen and treated within two hours of arriving at A&E, triage nurse called ENT doctor there and then and cannula fitted almost immediately for intravenous drip and blood clotting medication. Could not fault this amazing team and would like to thank them for their support and great care, staff friendly and helpful and although busy, made this a very pleasant experience for us.
