  1. Review titled Amazing birthing experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Giselle Kiel - Posted on 21 October 2024

On the 17th October 2024 I went to the maternity assessment unit with bleeding and contraction like pain I was then kept in and placed on the maternity base ward until a bed became available for me on the delivery suite, while on the maternity base a lovely student nurse looked after me she was brilliant and went above and beyond to keep me calm, answer any questions I had and build a rapport with me so I felt safe and well looked after. I was then transferred to the delivery suite where I met the shift manager, I have heard she’s amazing from friends and everyone at the hospital spoke very highly of her but she is truly an angel. She made my birthing experience very special, she facilitated for me and my partner in every way she could and she genuinely cares about her patients. When it was time to start my induction on the drip the midwife was the one who made sure my cannula was in properly and called the doctor to break my waters so I could have a vaginal birth which was my plan from the start I really appreciated this as I was very concerned I would have to get a c section as the induction process was slower than I anticipated, once her shift finished I was under the care of two other midwives them two made sure I got the care I needed, made me laugh through contractions and monitored myself and my baby very closely. Thank you to all the team there are too many to mention, the doctor who delivered my baby was also fantastic. Thank you especially to the shift manager, thank you for holding my hand after you found out my mum had recently passed, thank you for unravelling my baby girls cord from her neck so I could take a healthy baby home, thank you for supporting my babies father, I had the best birthing experience it was truly amazing. Thank you to everyone.

  3. Review titled Sent me away unheard

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Kimberley Hitchmough - Posted on 28 July 2024

After going in explaining to the hospital I knew something was wrong with me (not sleeping, no appetite, unusually bleeding bright red blood, unusual extreme crying) as well as explaining to them I had a cyst that I thought could have burst...they said no it wasn't because it wasn't heavy or more painful. Turns out after an appointment at another hospital that it had burst and I was right!!!

  5. Review titled Still waiting for results after surgery

    by Balletshoes17 - Posted on 15 December 2023

I had surgery 4 months ago and was told after the surgery that I would have a follow-up appointment within 4 months after I had the MRI that I needed. I had the MRI 3 months ago and I am still waiting for the results, and there seems to be no appointment in sight. It’s getting ridiculous and isn’t fair when anxiety is already high about what the results could potentially be.

  6. Review titled Dedicated staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 27 September 2023

I stayed in the hospital from 10th till 15th September 2023. The care I had was very overwhelmed me from each of the staff who cared for me. As a first time mother I had lots of worries before my baby girl was born. All the staff were reassuring and very caring towards me. I don’t know all the names of staff, but all the midwifes and doctors who took care of me were great, some of them went beyond to help me to welcome our baby girl on 12th of September 2023, especial mention to the doctor who helped me to deliver my baby girl. After giving birth of my baby girl, I had major blood loss. Huge thank you to everyone who saved my life on the day. Thank you, please keep the good job.

  7. Review titled Pregnancy

Rated 1 star out of 5

The worst hospital you could come to I wouldn't advise any pregnant woman to come here.. left me for 3 days cause they had no beds.. dr told me if they brought my baby c section it could possible cause autism and adhd at 37 weeks but they had already started me of at 37 weeks so no matter what I was already in labour! Because of those drs.. 24 hours later still no bed on labour ward.. c section was offered pushed back because of hand over pushed back because they don't think they should over night If you want to be treated with proper car and respect for you and your baby wellfare do not come here

  9. Review titled Waiting time for scan

    by festivityrz73 - Posted on 08 August 2023

I have been told my sample of urine was contaminated and I need to pick up another sample. I have excruciating back pain and have a high risk pregnancy and I still have not had a scan yet to see if baby is ok. My friend who is also under this hospital due 2 days after me has already had a scan and knows the gender of her baby. Meanwhile I have to wait a further week for a scan due to my urine sample being contaminated. Very disappointed

  10. Review titled Not being listened to

    by maytc87 - Posted on 09 August 2023

I had my baby two weeks ago and had a lovely pool birth. The problems started afterwards when I had a large bleed over 1000mls which was dealt with quickly. The next morning I had to wait 5 hours to be discharged, they told me my iron level was down to 85 and I needed to take oral iron. I explained that I couldn’t take oral iron. In my first pregnancy I needed an iron infusion, but no one listened to me. After being sent home I contacted my GP to get some iron as this was not given to me, my GP was astonished that I was not given an iron infusion before I left the hospital. Also the iron level documented on my discharge was one that was taken weeks before my delivery My GP has since spoken to the hospital and I’ve now been contacted to go back in for an iron infusion. This all could have been avoided if someone had listened to me and understood that I cannot take oral iron.
