    My father is on ward 1. A woman with dementia screams constantly. A broken call button beeps piercingly every second. While I was there one of the younger patients became loud and abusive threatening to break the jaw of an older confused patient who had wandered into his room by mistake. This hospital never answers the phone and gives scant information to relatives. When I arrived I found Dad dressed in a thin cotton top about 10 sizes too small. He had no water by his bed. He said he was made to undertake a cognitive test in the early hours of the morning, a time when he felt utterly exhausted and disoriented. This is only day one and I’m very worried for his welfare if his has to stay at this hospital.

    We visited this hospitals A and E it was very buzy and the doctors was not available due to serious emergencies the staff at A and E was lovely we are from Manchester and even though we had to wait 9 hrs for doctors the staff at reception and the nurses were so helpful and over and above helpful and patient with us thankyou x

    Went to the Epilepsy clinic and was seen by a very experienced doctor who diagnosed my condition during the first consultation. I had seen many doctors prior to this consultation with no success. I am happy to recommend this department fully.

    I was admitted to Ward 31 Leicester General Hospital for a surgical procedure and was extremely impressed by the high level of care I received. All staff I came into contact with were polite, helpful, knowledgeable, caring and kind. They clearly have to work in conditions where recourses are limited and they are busy in their individual and team roles but they were exemplary in the level of care they delivered. I managed to express my thanks to a couple of staff on discharge and they both said that it really boosts morale to receive good feedback so please do ensure they all receive this! I noticed that at the end of each shift it seemed customary to thank their colleagues for a good shift which again seemed a really positive gesture. Well done Ward 31!!!! Just to add that leading up to my procedure, my experiences at Out Patients were also very positive. Amazing care and level of practice in such difficult times. Thank you everyone.

  5. Review titled Gastroscopy LGH Vanguard Mobile Unit

    I had an afternoon appointment today 29.09.2022, at the mobile unit (accessed next to car park 2.) The unit is modern, clean and purpose built. Staff were superb throughout, from the nurse taking details and blood pressure etc, to the ones carrying out the procedure and with aftercare.. I was fully involved with every step and care was taken to end sure my full understanding. I was always treated courteously and with respect and good humour. An endoscopy is not the most pleasant of experiences but the staff did everything they possibly could to make things easier. They were professional kind and caring. They are a credit to the LGH Unit. Thank you.
