  2. Review titled Unhelpful receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

Hi I have been awaiting a dxa scan since July 22. Having received a letter last Friday I realised that I cannot make the appointment given me ,as I'm away on holiday. Therefore this morning I rang through to change( and notify),so it can be used by someone else. I was transferred to a very curt lady in Radiology, who asked when I would be back from my holidays. She then offered me a new appointment on the 3rd of March, which I am unable to take, because of a prior commitment to my 86year old mother.(She lives in Derby, and I will be with her all day).I explained that I could not make the alternative day offered and at this point she got very agitated and said that I would have to go back on the waiting list, and they would write to me. At that point I was still trying to speak, and she hung up. Obviously was left feeling rather at a loss and upset by her unsympathetic response. No idea why she could not be a little kinder in her approach to dealing with me. I can make any other date in March,if she had been a little more patient. Now I've no idea how long my wait might be.

  3. Review titled Good care - poor parking practices!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by GDJP - Posted on 04 February 2023

Firstly my wife had an appointment for a scan today. Her appointment was on time and the team who dealt with her were very friendly and proficient - she was very impressed. On the other hand I was amazed at how poor the carpark payment facilities are. On arrival my wife went off to her appointment and I went to one of the machines to pay, only to find that it was coin only. In the three years since Covid, in addition to cash,  every car park I have used has offered other options such as chip and pin; contactless; payment by phone; payment via website or payment by app. On examining the signs of your contractor (which incidentally threaten fines of £100 for non-payment whilst making it incredibly difficult pay the required fee) the only option was a change machine located in the hospital and I wasn't carrying any notes either - very few people do these days. After 20 minutes of fruitless searching for cash in the car or your website for an alternative means of payment I gave up and parked further down Coleman Road where no charges applied. I was not the only one who gave up! Imagine the situation if my wife had been on her own. Whether or not you operate the carpark yourself or leave it to a contractor I assume that you do appoint said contractor and therefore are accepting of this archaic system and the difficulties it causes to your patients. There is no mention of this issue in the appointment letter or on your website and this should be corrected immediately with a warning to all using your car parks that they may only pay in cash or alternatively providing them with a voucher for free parking (as a patient of the hospital) to display in their vehicle. To do otherwise is tantamount to causing patients to risk fines. Should you wish to include the company name and address of your parking contractor in your response I will be happy to send them a cheque for the £1.70 parking fee.

  4. Review titled Brilliant procedure dire at getting results

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Marjorie Hall-Venmore - Posted on 17 January 2023

I had a colonoscopy done on the9/1/23 under the fast track for colon cancer. It’s now the 18/1/23 having had lung cancer in the past it’s obvious I am concerned. I would like to know my results. I did find out accidentally that I have been passed on to surgical team. Well being the colon why. I have been passed on to surgical. Suggest these something sinister going off. All I want is the results. Being put under a surgical team for what I do not know. I can only assume cancer of the colon but again it’s an assumption as that’s why I was fast tracked by my GP suspicion of GI cancer. So what else am I supposed to think. Oh the people who did the colonoscopy were absolutely brilliant. I could not have asked for a better team. Kept me informed of everything they were doing. I can not paise them enough. However getting a proper diagnosis. And to find I am with a surgical team. I really really would like sone answers but can not seem to find any. I have called the consultants Secretery times. No one ever answers. Can someone please let me know the results. It’s not too much to ask is it. I just assuming it’s cancer. Especely after having lung cancer. Please someone contact me with results

  5. Review titled Sleep clinic - no one is answering the phone

    by Patricia63 - Posted on 20 January 2023

I have sleep apnea and my cpap mask keeps leaking air so is unusable. I have been trying to contact them for a new face mask but no one is answering the phone. I have rang at different times during the day. I'm not complaining, I just need another mask, I have been without one for several days. Could I just add that the staff in the sleep lab are amazing.

  8. Review titled Poor patient skills from admin team, great doctor and nurse

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 07 February 2023

I first learnt of my emergency appointment via text before receiving any smear results, when I called the clinic to find any info possible the reception team were very unhelpful. When asked if I can change my appointment for cycle reasons, I was told, "well its down as urgent, so does that change anything!" If I wasn't already worried, I was then. Luckily, the doctor was fab, but my case wasn't an isolated one unfortunately and many other women before me had received the same spontaneous nerve racking message before an contact was made. Its not 12weeks on and still waiting rlfor my results and no calls answered when I call

  9. Review titled Utter Chaos

Rated 1 star out of 5

    by Alan S - Posted on 12 December 2022

When book online, advised 1st appointment approximately 13 days. Confirmed booking for 12 Dec 2022, only to find that the computer system had readjusted to 12 Jun 2023. Checking today (12 Dec 22) and advised that the 1st appointment is approximately 2 days. But then unable to book anything. Any face to face and/or in-person systems have been disgarded and replaced by totally useless software. Bad practice is not a result of Covid-19 backlog.
