Review titled Great care and understanding
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Gary Bonner - Posted on 05 March 2023
Recently spent quite a lot of time at King's Mill where my mother recently lost her battle with Cancer. The treatment she received on ward 24 during her final days was fantastic and all the staff made her and our family as comfortable and cared for as possible during what was an extremely difficult time. Also a few days after her passing her husband was also admitted to ward 36 which also gave fantastic care to him with great understanding of the situation particularly one of your Health Care Assistants who went above and beyond to help him cope with the situation as well as his health condition. Massive thanks from all the family x.

Review titled Great Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Andrew Clarke - Posted on 17 February 2023
My daughter was sent by her gp to urgent care for a ct scan. The service she received was brilliant, the staff could not have been more helpful. She had several tests as well as the ct scan and got the results back within a couple of hours. Many thanks to all of the staff, we couldn't possibly have asked for more.

Review titled Early Pregnancy Unit
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 17 February 2024
I visited the Early Pregnancy Unit following symptoms of a very early miscarriage at 7 weeks. I was very surprised to be faced with questions such as was my pregnancy planned, was I sure I'd taken a positive test, a nurse saying 'sprry im rushing you i'm running late and we're finishing now' and then after having my blood results come back a few days later and my levels being really low, again being questioned for a second time about having done a positive test. I appreciate this was a very early miscarriage, but I really felt that being questioned over having taken a positive test completely devalued the pregnancy - one that was absolutely planned and wanted, and i'd taken 4 tests several days apart (not that I believe that would matter!). After having a wonderful experience with my first child in the maternity wing, I felt so let down. I really felt like the team suspected I was lying and didn't have the time to deal with me. Quite honestly, it made the experience so much worse for having visited the hospital - I wish I hadn't had gone. The only reason I attended was to make sure there were no further complications.

Review titled Highest quality, speed and professionalism
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Martin Harrison - Posted on 31 January 2023
Having been seen by the Head of department within 2 weeks I wanted to say thank you. The NHS does a great job in many instances and this was one. After bad experiences with BUPA, I had my condition evaluated, diagnosed and clearly explained for the first time. The hospital in all respects did a great job and I'm grateful to have been treated here.

Review titled Great experience

Attended A&E with my child after they sustained a cut to the face which required gluing. Our experience was excellent, the service was very quick, we barely had to wait to be seen and the staff were all lovely and very professional. Thank you!

Review titled Neglectful behaviours
Rated 1 star out of 5

I went into a & e majors. I was in there for 7 hours for them to give me an X-ray and enema and send me home. The staff were very poorly mannered and looked down on you, my doctor was humming and haring at everything I was saying when I know how my own body reacts. Turns out it was the thing i thought it was I’m lucky I was continuously pestering them to do something otherwise they would have sent me home with nothing. On my arrival I wasn’t even given painkillers I had to wait three hours for paracetamol! The hospital then decided me to change my consultant without me knowing and I have to ring up for this information it’s appalling! So now have to wait several more months for that to be sorted! Hospitals should be welcoming and caring they wouldn’t know it if it slapped them in the face. I’m now left in pain and vomiting for god knows how long! Don’t have a good thing to say. I’m glad everyone else had a nice visit but I didn’t. There were blood stains on the floor and we were chucked in a “waiting room” that was a shut down children’s ward crammed with bedding away from other patients and staff so wasn’t easy to approach them!

Recently has a procedure in the endoscopy unit and the service was excellent both in the procedure room and the recovery area. Excellent bedside manner from all concerned and I would love to mention some names but know I cannot. Hopefully those people will know themselves and many thanks to all concerned.

Review titled 100% excellent care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Eddie H - Posted on 01 February 2023
Attended A&E then sent to primary care section, was dealt with quickly and with absolute respect. Had to return next day for same issue again although had to wait 2 half hours to be see, was sent promptly for xray, then into Same Day emergency Care, care was outstanding, long wait for blood results as the specific blood test needed time to be done. During that time we were checked on and apologies kept coming regarding the wait. Tea and coffee offered for both myself and wife. Clinic appointment yesterday was as efficient. Outstanding care, all staff pleasant, which must be difficult when they have to deal with some patients who aren't grateful or understanding of how difficult it must be for the staff who are working in such a pressurised environment. The staff were very caring. A big thank you to them all. They are undervalued. Eddie H
