Review titled Very poor treatment
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 July 2023
Daughter in law attended in extreme agony and vomiting. The dr stated it was gastroenteritis No pain relief offered for almost 2 hours and not examined for the same amount of time. Blood pressure extremely low and told it was normal by the dr. Dr advised that going home would be the best option so she would not catch infection from elderly patients. Pain relief was asked for several times and one nurse stating she would come after two jobs she had. The nurse was then heard and seen stating she was going on break and never came to tend to her pain. Dr stated she was very dehydrated and gave paracetamol for excruciating pain and did not help the pain at all. After stating we knew something serious was wrong, the dr decided to keep her in and arrange a scan. The scan revealed inflamed, infected and leaking appendix and had to go to surgery the same day. This is quite clear if she had done what the dr had advised by going home, she would not be here today.

Review titled Excellent level of care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Neil Green - Posted on 27 July 2023
My mum was taken to kingsmill by ambulance, and they were fantastic from when they arrived at her home all the way to hospital. Once inside A and E majors, all the staff, (nurses, porters , x ray/scan, occupational therapy, etc, were brilliant with their care, understanding mums needs, giving information and explaining everything).

Got told I have a cyst on my brain. Had a mri in 2017 and got told it was all clear then in June last year I had another mri and they've told me about the cyst and it was there since 2017 but nothing was said. Rang up a couple of days ago to chase up what what happening and they have no records of the cyst and they've discharged me without letting me know

I attended an appointment for an endoscopy which I was extremely nervous about. When I booked in the lady was lovely and friendly. The clinical staff were absolutely amazing, I was made to feel so relaxed, they made me laugh and they were so so caring. I cannot thank them enough. The experience that I was so worried about went smoothly and painlessly. Thank you again to all involved.

Review titled Outstanding care at every step
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I took my 87 year old mother in at 5.00pm having been told by General Practitioner to go immediately to Accident and Emergency Care. Within 45 mins of arriving she was hooked up to every machine imaginable, being fussed over, reassured and seen by a specialist cardiologist. Staff at every level could not have been kinder and more attentive. She was treated overnight and thankfully now is home and well. These amazing doctors and nurses go well above and beyond. But it is the same for all the wonderful people working at Kings Mill - special mention to the kindest, kindest porter who helped me get mum to and into the car when we left - Thank you thank you to all at Kings Mill. Today I still have my mum, two days ago I was not sure that would be the case at all.

I was induced 08/06/2023 and had to stay overnight until I gave birth the following morning! Every single member of staff we came into contact with were absolutely amazing, welcoming and caring! It made the labour experience so much nicer and easier without having to worry about rude staff! If I knew names I’d love the chance to thank each and every person that worked with me through my labour. You’re pregnancy and birthing staff are absolute top notch and they all deserve to know atleast that they are deeply appreciated and the work they do is fantastic

Review titled Outstanding! Ward 36, Short Stay Unit
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My mother was admitted on 27 June 2023 due to an emergency detioration of her condition at the final stages of bowel cancer. The private room my mother was given was very comfortable, clean and bright. I can honestly say that all the Staff in Ward 36 were outstanding and did everything they could to make both my mother, and our time we had left with her, as comfortable as possible - even setting up a bed in her room so one of us could stay overnight with her. A huge thank you to everyone in Short Stay Unit for your sincere kindness and support to the family, for our teas/coffees/ sandwiches/biscuits and even the offering of hot food! You made such a difficult time much more bearable. To the end my mother (although in a comatose state) was still turned in bed and kindly cared for. The Short Stay Unit Staff were exceptional and we will always be grateful that our mother received the very best care and attention right to the very end.
