  1. Review titled Excellent treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Terence Holt - Posted on 01 November 2023

Yesterday morning I came to the Day Case Ward for a procedure on my throat. The whole experience was conducted in a kindly, yet professional manner. I was greeted with a smile by the receptionist at 7.30am, taken to the ward where all the necessary tests were done by the wonderful nursing team. In due course I was seen by the anaesthetist ,who thoroughly explained the procedure she would be overseeing. Shortly afterwards the surgeon came and explained clearly what he would doing to help my problem. The operation duly went ahead as soon as a theatre was available and I was gently cared for in the recovery room. Back on the ward the nursing staff were on hand for any help required, e.g. toileting and the discharge documents explained what had been done and that I would be called in for a post-operative consultation in 6 week's time. Overall it was an outstanding display of what King's Mill and the NHS has done for me. My heartfelt thanks to all concerned. Terence Holt

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My 97 year old mother was taken to Kings Mill after a fall at her Care Home. Care was tremendous from start to discharge over to Newark Hospital today. Wonderful to be able to telephone and easily speak to someone who knew about my Mum’s circumstances. A big well done to all involved and thank you.

  4. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My son has just spent 10 days in the respiratory ward. He has a profound learning disability and severe epilepsy. All the staff were excellent, very caring and compassionate. However, the discharge procedure is appalling, currently been sat waiting for transport for 8 hours, no wonder the emergency admissions wards struggle to find beds. Surely it would pay in the long run to employ more ambulances for discharge, so freeing up beds quickly.

Tried to cancel appt as being treated elsewhere. Answer machines. No one gets back. Info given is not recorded and further unnecessary appts offered. Time scales for appts and treatment are unbelievable.

  8. Review titled Site maps.

by Terra incognita - Posted on 04 October 2023

Your site maps are poor. I've just spent the last half hour in a fruitless search for ward 35 in the short stay unit. Can I find it? No. So now I'll have to find some poor soul to point me in the right direction. Fortunately most hospitals have several volunteers to do just that. But I still wanted to see for myself.

  9. Review titled Excellent!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Donna Brunt - Posted on 22 September 2023

I couldn’t fault the care given to me by staff in A&E at Kingsmill hospital. It was the first time I’d been to Kingsmill hospital and I was extremely worried but every single person I engaged with treated me with kindness and professionalism, from the receptionist, the triage nurse, the phlebotomist, the lady doing the ECGs, and the Primary care staff. Even though it was extremely busy and there was a major emergency at one point, every single person was lovely. Thank you so much! It makes such a difference. The streamline service was very impressive too!

  10. Review titled Bad experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Melissa jeszke - Posted on 05 September 2023

Was in pain at 2.30 am phoned 111 they said they will send a ambulance out .then I got a call 10 minutes later asking if I could make my own way there because it could take up to six hour's for a ambulance to come even though they said there no delays on the ambulance coming. so I got a taxi got there at 11.30am sat there till 4.45pm there was 7 ambulance driver just sat there talking & eating food. I was sat there in pain given nothing for the pain even after my husband told them I was in alot of pain twice.people was coming in after me but they was getting seen before me .most of the staff was to busy standing around talking instead of dealing with the patient that really needed their help .I find this disgusting the way I was treated and left there for so long on pain
