  1. Review titled Great experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Just wanted to say thank you to the maternity service. I had great care throughout my pregnancy, going weekly to the maternity assessment unit who were always very kind and sensitive towards my anxiety. I also received great care while in labour even though I didn’t have the experience I expected, my sons birth was still very positive and the care after on the ward was good, even though it was clear they were very short staffed. Was very happy with the care I received throughout my pregnancy and birth. Thank you to everyone who took care of us.

  2. Review titled A&E - Amazing Ambulance crew and A&E Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Regrettably I fell unwell whilst in town, and after recognizing I was having heart symptoms and felt faint I tried to get some fresh air. The first responder in this instance was a local police office who found me on the pavement, and realized I had struck my head. I have no memory myself, but I understand from the Ambulance crew the police officer placed me into the recovery position and called for blue light support. I have little memory of the Ambulance crew until I was in their care in the ambulance itself destined to the Hitchingbrooke hospital. I was feeling extremely frightened but relieved I was being looked after. The crew were fantastic on the journey and very calm with me even though I was in pain and discomfort, on a spinal board in a head brace. I was seen very quickly arriving at the A&E department and moved through triage and luckily began to feel well recovering the feeling in my extremities within a few hours. I was very shaken but seen by a Doctor multiple times, and the A&E nursing team kept very close watch until I was discharged. The nursing team remaining vigilant even to the ensure I was escorted whilst I walked to my taxi. End to end, everyone was extremely kind, very patient and supportive given I was frightened and in pain, and no doubt at times not clearly articulating my learning difficulties and mental health problems. A wonderful crew, and fantastic nursing team.

  4. Review titled Friendly and very informative

I attended an appointment with a Consultant in the department on 13/03/2023 after being referred by my GP. My broken ankle and repeat X-rays were explained to me in great detail and my worries eased that all I’m going through is normal! He was so friendly and very informative and the appointment didn’t feel rushed, even though I could see from the number of patients who went in to see him before me, he was obviously very busy.

  5. Review titled Fabulous treatment

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently was admitted for a planned op. I was extremely nervous and was shown real understanding and genuine kindness. Every part of my treatment was explained in a way I could understand and all my concerns were answered. All the staff from the lovely lady on reception to the consultant and anaesthetist were professional but also thoughtful and took time to reassure me. The hospital was sparkling clean and I was seen on time. I cannot fault this hospital and it’s amazing team.

  6. Review titled Excellent care

Following a stroke I was admitted to AAU at Hitchinbrook Hospital. I have no words to describe how caring, kind and helpful all the medical team was. The nurses were very attentive and couldn’t do enough for you. They noticed the smallest details that any patient might need. I would also like to praise the food provided. Very tasty home cooking, good variety and choice.

  7. Review titled NHS Hospital (Hinchingbrooke Hospital) Review

Rated 3 stars out of 5

I was in a road accident where a car hit me off my motorcycle and required stitching and x-rays. The waiting times on the ambulance arriving were satisfactory and well, but as soon as I was inside the hospital the waiting times were very lacking and slow. I was in a queue behind 10 other people who have arrived for check ups and minor issues whilst I was in pain and bleeding out of my leg in a wheelchair in reception. It was a Sunday night I understand so perhaps less staff, but I was not prioritised with any emergency care just simply left in reception for hours, and further waiting times after being slightly treated on and off. After stitches and medication I was finally treated at 3am. They didn’t offer me a bed to stay in for the night and sent me home in a taxi that I paid for (they offered free transport but had to wait for a further 8 hours to arrive). My experience with this hospital wasn’t satisfactory due to not being prioritised and the waiting times were extremely slow. I was treated in the end and bandaged but overall not a good experience with this hospital sadly.

I had injured my leg, and on arriving at the drop off point, a security guard offered to get a wheel chair for me, so helpful. From the initial triage check, to the A&E nurse/doctor and x-ray team I want to say how courteous and professional they all were.

  10. Review titled Amazing care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 February 2023

Tonight my husband, son and I were involved in a head on car accident, we were hit by a drunk driver. The care we received both by the hinchingbrooke paramedics and the a&e dept was amazing, efficient, caring, attentive, calm, reassuring and thorough. They made my 7 year old son feel so safe & relaxed and the doctors explained everything so clearly to us. I really did invisage a very long night, and that would have been fine as I know how busy hospitals staff are, but we were seen by paramedics within 10 mins of the crash, we saw a nurse as soon as we arrived at a&e & was home within 3 hours. Albeit with bruises, pain & shock but I just wanted to say how very lucky the community is to have such a great NHS team! Thank you!
