  1. Review titled Brilliant care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lisa McAdam - Posted on 25 January 2023

As much as I hate hospitals, the was one of the least stressful experiences I have had. All the staff were friendly, professional and understanding. They were really human and treated me as such. My consultant sat with me and my mum and together, we made a decision on the procedure. He listened and understood our concerns and changed the plan for the day. He was amazing! Even during the procedure, he took the time to ask if I was ok and to reassure me that I was doing well. Everyone on the ward commented on the friendliness of the staff and honestly felt better for having the extra attention they were given. The ward was peaceful and stress free. Unlike other hospitals, phones were answered on the first ring, rather than being ignored and left to ring until the caller gave up and hung up. I honestly cannot rate the staff high enough.

  5. Review titled Urology deserve recognition

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Hayley Carroll - Posted on 20 December 2022

I have spent 2022 in emergency admissions and several wards for urology, these departments have treat me with real care, when other pathways have become difficult the freeman urology department have picked up my care & took real notice of my needs. They've fought for me & allowed me to confidently advocate for my needs, a lot of people forget staff are there for the patient, not themselves & these departments really gave me faith in that. It can be embarrassing to attend a department so much they recognise you but urology have made this the opposite for me, I feel like every visit all staff members have made sure to at least attempt to further plans of care for my quality of life. For so much, thank you.

  6. Review titled Catheter ablation at the Freeman

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Alan M - Posted on 07 November 2022

I had a catheter ablation and Electrophysiology study done on the 2nd November. I stayed on Ward 27 for a couple of nights and was well looked after by all of the nurses and support staff. The study and ablation was completed by one of the specialist Cardiologist’ who was assisted by a fab team in the cath lab, they put me at ease and answered all of my questions. All staff from my pre-op and procedure were all very friendly and professional. A credit to the hospital

  7. Review titled Amazing experience

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Danielle Bousquet - Posted on 11 November 2022

I had treatment at the day centre. The doctors and nurses were the most kind and friendly people I've ever encountered. Their support was the reason I got through my procedure even though I was feeling quite anxious before and I hope that this review gets seen by them! Thank you so so much for giving me such a positive experience , as much as one can being at the hospital.

Have been attending several departments for over 2 years and they are absolutely brilliant. They really make me feel at ease and often have a few laughs along the way. The best staff, the best equipment and the best choice of procedures.

  9. Review titled Not good.

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Marilyn Hall - Posted on 15 November 2022

Not one person from the Endoscopy Department appears to know what is going on. The stress of my situation has been made even worse. I'm supposed to be having a procedure tomorrow, and after having to keep chasing them up myself a d promised letters and calls that never came, being given the totally wrong advice on what and when to eat, and then told a taxi would be sent with the laxative required - of course it hasnt - so I'm in limbo again, not knowing if it can go ahead. Very concerning, as time is the essence! I never thought I'd be treat with this kind of incompetence and uncaring. The managers of this department need to actually manage it.

  10. Review titled A credit to the NHS

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Simon Harper - Posted on 10 November 2022

I had a pacemaker fitted on Ward 27 on 18 October. All the staff were reassuring and helpful at all times. I was put at ease and everything was fully explained to me at the time. My cardiologist explained everything to me before the procedure, during the procedure and afterwards. The whole experience was a credit to the NHS and proof of why it should be properly funded.
