  1. Review titled Embarrassment to call NHS

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 October 2022

Took my partner up to Darenth Valley at 21:00pm. Still sitting here at 4:00am and not one person has seen him. Even tho he came in with chronic chest pain. was up here yesterday! A doctor prescribed wrong medication. Medication for arthritis when he hasn’t even be diagnosed for that. Absolutely disgusting receptionist, women with blonde hair. Spoke to me like absolute dirt. Honestly disgrace this hospital/ department. Everyone standing around having a chat in the back reception desk while you have the sick and elderly waiting for over 8 hours! No excuse for this in my opinion. Absolutely disgusted. Some of these nurses and doctors that have pins should be taken off them!!!!!!!!!

  2. Review titled Huge improvement over the past couple of years

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Karl Lucas - Posted on 19 November 2022

My mother had to visit A&E and was taken care of extremely well. The ambulance staff were excellent as always - caring, helpful and very professional. Time to be seen by the doctor on arrival was 1 hour and the attending doctor was also excellent. She undertook a thorough assessment and from then on kept us appraised of the sequence of events every 20 minutes so that we were not left in the dark. Her bedside manner, and that of the nurses was just so reassuring and empathetic that my mother felt at ease the whole time. The person who registered my wife and I in the waiting room was similarly professional - there was a lady ahead of us who only spoke Italian and he made a point of seeking out a doctor who could converse in the language. The total time in hospital was around 4-5 hours and although most of that time was spent in the hallway, the experience was a positive one and an immense improvement on our previous visit 2 years ago. Congratulations to the hospital and my sincere thanks to all the staff who go over and above to keep us safe.

  3. Review titled Thank you, Rowan Ward,

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue - Posted on 20 October 2022

I was admitted as an emergency recently via the Emergency Department (ED) with really bad pain that turned out to be gallbladder related. when I got to Rowan, I was tired and exhausted and was met by the kindest loveliest nurse who knew that I needed to sleep. He was quick and efficient and thorough in doing what he needed to do. He then almost apologetically said " I will have to wake you at 5.30 am." It was so kind and informative, and true to his word there he was again at 5.30. I was on the ward for 8 days and at all times, staff were respectful, kind, warm and friendly. there were run ragged with work, and it was tough to see them working so hard. They worked well as a team, and I am so thankful to them for caring for me.

  4. Review titled Lovely kind staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Sue - Posted on 20 October 2022

I was admitted as an emergency recently via the Emergency Department (ED) with really bad pain. I was met with kindness and efficiency in ED. Pain relief was swift and thankfully effective. The department was busy and yet there was an air of calm about the place which was very helpful, and I am so thankful to the staff for their kindness and compassion. It helped so much

  5. Review titled Great care until you have a baby then goes from 100 to 0

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Charlie s - Posted on 09 September 2022

Arrived at cedar ward on Tuesday what a great service (slight queue) but was introduced and looked after very well, birthing partners are very welcome and very well looked after with plenty refreshments to offer throughout. Had the baby very quicker and was moved into the birth centre opposite / aftercare . Wasn’t introduced by any staff soon arrival or asked if we required any assistance etc. floor was filthy dirty with rubbish on the floor by bed given. The following morning the tea lady comes around and completely ignored the birthing partner didn’t make any eye contact and only asked if one of us wanted a tea or coffee. When we asked for a tea and coffee we was told we wasn’t allowed . I’m sorry we have been given refreshments for the last 3 days why all of a sudden are they not entitled to a coffee after this hospital is a NHS hospital. Absolutely disgraceful.

  6. Review titled Great service with greatest staff

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had my baby in Darent Valley hospital on 20th of September and cannot express how amazing and caring staff work there. Everyone was kind, caring and so supportive throughout our stay. I felt in safe hands all the way through my induction, birth, surgical department and recovery. They made my absolute horrific birth experience so positive. We are extremely thankful for every single person we have met. Thank you all million times for support and care! ❤️
