Review titled Oustanding
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have a fear of anything to do with my eyes but needn't have worried. From the reception, to the nurse ensuring I was having the correct eye dealt, with down to the nurse assisting the super doctor carrying out the procedure, everyone was outstanding. Thanks to everyone's efforts I now have perfect vision in my left eye. Can't wait to have the right eye done now and this time I won't be any where as afraid as I was the first time round. I can highly recommend ward 9 to anyone requiring cataract surgery. Many thanks

Review titled Excellent Care

I checked into Urgent Care at 8am after a nasty fall and was greeted by a very friendly receptionist who said that X Ray department opened at 9 and would I like to book in which I did for 9.30am. Arrived and was seen almost immediately, sent to X Ray next door, screened and then immediate feedback from the lovely professional on duty. This all took less than hour and I was treated like a human being and all of the staff remembered my name throughout. Thankfully just a sprained ankle, thank you so much to all the caring staff and a stress free experience.

After spending several weeks on bah ward 16 I can only praise all the staff (including cleaners) for their care and consideration under some very trying situations. Despite there being a lack of staff they all pulled together and got the job done in a happy and kindly manner. a big thank you to you all

Your Review: Just had a colonoscopy at Bishop Auckland Hospital today 4th April 2023. The team were fantastic . They were professional and made me feel at ease, kept me informed as to what was happening all the way through the procedure. Ok they found some issues that need addressing, which means a return visit...but I'm sure I will be treated just as well the second time. Thank you

Review titled Modern but badly designed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by James Edwards - Posted on 28 March 2023
Bearing in mind how recent this hospital is, car parking is far from adequate, waiting time to book in at reception longer, wait for consultant longer. I have always been to the clinic at Darlington where I can park, check in and leave in about 30 minutes. Why has this clinic been moved to Bishop Auckland, over an hour travel round trip? Very disappointed let alone annoyed

Review titled Exceptional service

From entering ward 20 to leaving on 21st February my experience was very positive. Without exception all the staff were wonderful and put you at ease. The nurse who inserted the cannula was amazing, I barely felt the needle and have no bruising at all. They can all be extremely proud of their team work.

Review titled Outstanding example of healthcare

Had hip replacement surgery here on 1st Feb 2023. The staff were amazing. Nothing too much trouble. Everything went like clockwork. Cannot praise it high enough. If you are given choice of hospitals for procedure take this one. All staff were professional but cheerful and friendly. I've had my fair share of ops in the past, both NHS and private and this is the best place to go.

Review titled Great
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Staff on phone and on site doing exceptional work in very busy circumstances. We used 111 online but after 7 hours waiting for a within-the-hour call we called 111 to see if we should be doing anything different and they arranged a the urgent treatment centre to ring us back. A call an hour or two later, an appointment a couple of hours after with medicines given and a child now feeling much better and able to enjoy Christmas morning :) I liked that staff warned us there would still be a wait even with an appointment so we could be prepared. The doctor answered our questions (and was clear and very honest about any uncertainties etc). It was also great medicines were given direct to us (no need to find a pharmacy late at night on Christmas Eve) and tips given to successfully get medicines into a child were helpful. Thank you so much

Review titled No duty of care
Rated 2 stars out of 5

Rang this hospital at 12:30 ( I never ever ring as I always think an appointment could go to a child) anyways rang them back at 3 as still hadn’t had a call back. To then wait 50 minutes to speek to some one to say the doctor knows your condition is worse yet still no phone call. Rang then again to be fobbed off It’s now 7:44 no phone call at all there’s no duty of care at all
