Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Brenda Roff - Posted on 01 February 2024
My hip operation right from my first appointment through to my discharge was a very good experience. I was treated as a person by friendly professionals. Right from the cleaner, catering staff, nurses, physios, anaesthetists to the surgeon . I Felt relaxed and cared for throughout. I am sorry if I have omitted someone but everyone I can in to contact with was cheerful and friendly.

Arrived at A and E this morning at 8.45am and from moment I arrived I was treated with kindness and thoughtful staff It was a calm atmosphere and everything spotless clean I was on my way home , with diagnosis of hairline fracture in my foot - and a black boot by 12 noon - even though I was prepared for a long long wait given it was more of a minor injury I only hope follow up communications and treatment are done to the same high standard I received today

Review titled What an absolute joke
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Daniel pink - Posted on 11 December 2023
So back in July I went to my gp complaining of numb leg pain and felt like my knee is twisting. I got sent for an xray by my docs. Went to Bedford hospital for said Xray. After the Xray I got informed to go to a&e. I asked why and was told its protocol. Sat in a&e for 2hrs and finally got seen by the nurse. I asked him want I am doing in a&e he said protocol. He told me to wait further for the doctor. An hour later I get called into the docs. I ask him why am I in a&e he said protocol. I was getting annoyed by this point so I asked again what have you seen in the Xray. He then asks me when did I break my leg? I said never, Oh your leg is fractured. They then told me to leave and await scans. I had my first mri scan in August and they scanned my knee. I went back to the consultant to get the results. After waiting 2.5hrs I got to see the consultant. He then proceeds to tell me that they have Mri'd the wrong part of my leg. The have Mri'd my knee instead of my tibula. So I had to wait for another scan appointment. Finally it comes along in October. I go and have the scan. Approx 2 weeks later I am given a hospital appointment Nov 8th to review the results of the scan. On the 8th Nov I have a phone call from the hospital saying that my appointment today is not worth it as they haven't received the results yet. I state my appoint is tomorrow not today! Anyway after some discussion my appointment is cancelled awaiting results. 3 days later I receive a text message from the NHS stating I have a new appointment to review my results. I book the day off work again and go to the hospital. I sit in the waiting room for another 3hrs waiting to be seen. Eventually I get called in. The consultant then states they still haven't received my results. The consultant seemed angry and left a voice message for the team that deals with scan analysis. That was approx 5 weeks ago. Still don't have my results, still my leg is numb and very painful but the Nhs don't care as I'm British and I pay all my taxes. I feel like I have been given the run around and the service is an absolute joke! I have kept it clean here but I am very very very annoyed. Nhs do you fancy getting me my results from my scan or what? Probably speak to you next year when you pull your fingers out!!!! What an absolute joke - Go private - The Nhs is a joke!!!! Utter Chaos !!!!!!!!!!!!

Review titled Such great care
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had a plate put in my wrist to realign a fracture. Every single member of staff I met was kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and friendly. I felt safe and cared for from the moment I arrived until I left. When I was in pain they reacted swiftly and with genuine concern. They also provided me with tea and biscuits to revive me in Recovery and even made sure they had the same biscuits back on the ward! I truly appreciate the wonderful care I had. Thank you 🙏

My husband seemed to be suffering from Adrenal insufficiency, though we were not aware. The staff were rushed off their feet but they didn’t act harassed or rush us. They did their very best, with kindness and a smile. We both thank you so much and want you all to know that you are valued & respected. Your work and personal sacrifice is appreciated beyond measure., Our best wishes and kindest regards Sue & Alton Johnson

I was admitted to Howard ward on Thursday 21 June and wanted to say the staff who were working very hard, had time to speak to people they cared for on bay 5, I found all staff responsive to request around all my care, they ensured best practice and quality care was given, and made me feel comfortable at all times, Thank you to cleaning staff who kept all the ward spotless and enjoyable to be on, very friendly and happy nurses and support workers

Each time I have accessed ths service it has been such a positive experience. Albeit that the procedure isn't particularly nice, the staff are so kind, professional, welcoming and reassuring. Again today I accessed this service and was so impressed by the overall experience. This extends to the ease of parking, how helpful staff were in directing me and to the correct depth and to include the lovely, friendly staff in the cafe!
