  1. Review titled Out of hours GP

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Aimee Taylor - Posted on 04 June 2024

I went to the out of hours GP after contacting 111 for an ear infection. They saw me very quickly and prescribed me with medicine with no issues. But I was really impressed with my doctor as he also asked about the psoriasis (that I wasn't expecting to talk about that day) that was very clearly on my body and face and unknown to him has been stopping me from leaving my house and seeing friends since appearing a few months ago, it had also caused me to cut my own hair in attempt to deal with it on my scalp. I have had phone conversations with my normal GP, and medicines prescribed, however she would never see me in person and nothing was working. The doctor I saw on Sunday had a look at my psoriasis and prescribed a cream, he was very caring and could see it was a very sensitive issue for me. Well I have used the cream for 2 days and it is gone from my face! I can leave my house without feeling like I am being stared at and my skin is now healing. So I want to say thank you, I am unsure of his name, but he has quite literally changed my life, just by being compassionate, taking a look at my problem and giving me the correct treatment. He really is a credit to the NHS.

Although we had a long wait, the doctors and nurses were all extremely caring and encouraging, explaining everything as the day progressed. I could not fault them - they were superb! Thank you.

What an amazing team, everyone member of staff has treated me with absolute respect, went above and beyond to treat me, made me comfortable as possible, even though in so much pain, when asking questions and needing a little help, always there, The ward manager, absolutely wonderful, she has a fantastic team, and can’t ask for a better team to look after me, A massive thank you my nurse, wow, what a nurse, she is an amazing woman, always there when you need her, and when she is busy, she always makes the time to help you in every way she can, her assistance with her colleagues are noticed, her communication with patients are top quality. Thank you If I had to come back to hospital, this is the ward that I would love to come back to, because they all treat you with respect and dignity. Thank you Kingswood Ward for making my stay at the hospital comfortable as possible.

  5. Review titled Waiting

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mandy - Posted on 10 September 2024

Endocrine & Thyroid. Extremely long waits for appointments despite Dr requesting 3 month follow up. Repeat tests done twice (same ones) with 7 month wait before next appointment. Does not send letters or communicate so you only find out these at your appointment so no time to think and discuss what can be done. GP, because of no communication unable to follow-up on this without letter etc. Dr basically states you are lying about being in pain and everything is completely normal! When you see the Dr he will have forgotten what tests he has done (or cannot be bothered to look) and give you repeat tests without explanation. Forgot he had not even booked the 2nd scan so had to chase up. This Dr is an older gentleman and I think he is beyond caring. As for the system of trying to phone the Endocrine Dept. you can ring but it will never get answered! Good luck to all venturing forward into this Dept. in the hope of help.

I have just been to A & E with my son after he fell over and can not fault the service. We were seen by the A & E Doctor and she was brilliant, she was so thorough had a very caring manner and had results of the x-ray within 10 minutes. Best Doctor I have seen for a long time. Thank you

  8. Review titled Grateful

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Susan - Posted on 13 April 2024

We would just like to thank all the Doctors,Nurses and staff at Basildon Hospital. We have had to visit various Departments over the last 10 days. Accident and Emergency, Endoscopy, CT Scan, AMU East and Surgical Referral Unit. All the staff have been very kind, respectful and thorough when treating my elderly Father. Although we had a very long wait of over 8 hours in A and E we are still continually grateful for our NHS Service. Hopefully it will continue to be there for many years to come.

  9. Review titled Thank you amazing service and fast turnaround

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Grace Robertson - Posted on 14 April 2024

Just wanted to say thank you to the A&E department this morning. We went to A&E as I hurt my finger playing Netball yesterday. I decided to go early the next day I thought the wait time would be better. And I was correct we went around 830 on Sunday morning and we are back home within an hour and a half. Checked in in triage was super quick I was treated by a lovely man in A&E two x-rays and a dislocated finger later. Thank you,

  10. Review titled Health threatening

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mike Wellard - Posted on 17 April 2024

I am prescribed medication to treat thyroid disease every 3 months by the Endocrine department. Despite contacting the department a week before my prescription ran out, it is now 6 days since my medication ran out. I have emailed the department multiple times (they never answer the phone or it's not working) and have asked PALS to intercede (they haven't). I'm writing this review shaking and with heart palpitations. I wonder how ill I need to become before the Endocrine department actually provide my prescription
