From the initial consultation to my follow up treatment post surgery I was kept fully informed. The staff were accommodating and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The gynaecology inpatient unit is like being in a private ward and all the doctors and nurses gave knowledgeable care. During surgery I was treated with dignity, and in the after care phase there were some problems and I was seen immediately that I raised an issue which gave so much reassurance and confidence. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this service.

Got my NHS Digital Letter confirming my appointment, turned up at 8.30am for a 9.00am appointment with a consultant. Weighed and height measured at 8.45am, consultation at 8.50 am on my way home at 9.05am. I was treated with with courtesy, respect and dignity. I was also treated with kindness. Well done General Surgery, let's see how long I have to wait for my operation, they have a long way to catch up courtesy of the junior doctor's industrial action, 90,000 cancelled appointments I believe and that's just the first three days of industrial action. Again thank you.

The kindness and compassion shown by all of the staff who looked after me cannot be taught or learned from textbooks; it is intrinsic and from a pure heart. People say that the NHS is broken but I strongly disagree. Whilst there are people like these working in the heart of it and caring for patients with such love, it will never be defeated no matter what is thrown at it. I am so proud and privileged to have been cared for at Barnsley Hospital and wanted to take the time to tell you how wonderful it truly is.

I was given an appointment for 12.10 pm and was asked to turn up thirty minutes early, I was also informed by letter that the consultation would take up to three hours. I arrived at the Ophthalmology Department at 11.45 am., I had my eye test, was given my eye drops, visited the photographer and then attended my consultation and was at the bust stop on my way home at 12.15 pm. This is always the case, I've been doing this for years. The staff as always were professional, polite and treated everybody with respect and dignity. As always they were super effective and I was in and out within a reasonable time frame. If you are listening management, it does not take three hours to go through this process and it certainly does not take three and a half hours. The hardworking staff of the Ophthalmology Department do this for a living, they know exactly what they are doing, which is more than can be said about the Clueless Management at Barnsley General Hospital.

I recently had a open abdominal myomectomy and they consultants that completed the surgery were fantastic and followed me up on the ward days after the surgery The staff on the gynaecology inpatient ward were the most loveliest and compassionate professionals I have had the opportunity to meet Nothing was too much and they were very supportive during my recovery

Every member of staff at the hospital were absolutely fantastic during my pregnancy, birth and short post natal stay at the hospital. I had a difficult and slightly traumatic birth but the midwives and surgeon were extremely professional and attentive and looked after me and baby so well. Giving me everything from physical to emotional support, advice on breastfeeding and just downright great bedside manner, I left the hospital feeling extremely well cared for. Unfortunately, the staff did seem very busy and rushed of their feet most of the time, however I was left wanting for nothing and they never once made me feel rushed myself. The only problem I encountered was getting some help after leaving the hospital for post natal anxiety, however once I Managed to find the right services, they were excellent too. I really can't rave about my experience with the maternity team enough, just a wonderful team of genuine people that obviously care deeply about their job and their patients. I would always choose Barnsley hospital maternity services.

Attended day surgery yesterday and can honestly say all staff were amazing and caring and considering it was 28-degree heat outside makes them even more amazing thank you all so much

After having my procedure on 21st May 2023 I would love to thank all the staff looked after me yesterday . So polite and recovery team were brilliant. Just a shame I can't mention names but you know who you are. Fantastic

Travelled to here from a neighbouring Trust and so pleased I did. A&E - excellent practice despite being very busy. Triaged promptly, tests run swiftly, doctor was reassuring and very professional but caring. The staff as a whole were very patient focussed and really went out of their way. Admitted to a ward where the quality of care and attention to detail continued. Thankyou, Barnsley hospital.

I got an urgent referral to the General Surgery department of Barnsley Hospital. I first phoned the hospital at 9.00 am. There was no option in the call waiting for general surgery so I patiently waited for my turn. I Eventually got through to general surgery and spoke to an agent who said "I only deal with the lower part of the abdomen would you like the telephone number of the person who deals with the upper part of the abdomen. The advisor then gave me the telephone number which I phoned and I was put through to the voicemail of the cancer department. I left a message saying I was phoning about an urgent referral because I was admitted to hospital with a badly infected gall bladder. My GP thought it necessary to request an urgent consultation. This was shortly after 9.00am. At 1.45 pm I received a call from the cancer department to say they cannot help me, "Would you like me to put you through to general surgery" I replied "yes please" the person transferred me to the same queue that I phoned at 9.00 am, that would be the same queue with no option of selecting General Surgery. I again waited patiently to speak to an agent who said "I'll just put you through to general surgery" I was then transferred to the same queue as I phoned at 9.00 am this morning, that would be the same one with no option for general surgery. This is typical of Barnsley Hospital, a shining beacon of incompetence and ineptitude. It's now approaching 4.00 pm and I have achieved absolutely nothing since 9.00 am this morning. The board members should be ashamed of the so called service that they provide.
