Review titled Can't thank you enough!
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Laura - Posted on 30 June 2023
On Monday the 26th of June I was involved in an incident on a Rollercoaster. The paramedics, police, air ambulance and fire brigade were there extremely fast. The paramedics, were so kind and attentive, I simply can't thank them enough. Not only to me, but to my son, who witnessed the incident and also got a fright. The paramedics spoke to me all the way to hospital, including some jokes (on top of everything else, I was very claustrophobic in the ambulance) and stayed as long as they could at the hospital. Thank you a million times over!! I would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at Colchester hospital for their soft words and explaining everything very clearly to me.

Review titled Understanding and caring
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Zoe - Posted on 02 June 2023
I landed myself into a situation on Wednesday night leading to me taking control and phoning for an ambulance. It was all in all a great service despite the nhs being under a lot of stress. From the beginning, the dispatcher on the end of the phone was very patient and kind with me, and efficiently sent out an ambulance to come to my rescue. The ambulance turned up about half an hour after making the phone call so very efficient. The ambulance crew were so so lovely and compassionate and I could not stress enough how safe and protected and cared for I felt while in the back of the ambulance. They were extremely patient with me and they were very dedicated in their job making me feel comfortable and safe. Creds to these two ambulance crew members, you know who you are! I almost feel quite emotional at how kindly I was treated by them and they listened to me and weren’t afraid to have a conversation with me despite the circumstances. They were person centred which made my ambulance journey fairly pleasant. Brilliant service, I hope that all ambulance crews are as kind and dedicated as this crew that I was lucky enough to be under the care of. Keep doing what you’re doing. It’s a challenging and stressful job but the ambulance crews are so amazing at saving people’s lives, no matter how tough it gets. Hats off to all the ambulance crew out they’re doing what they’re doing.

Review titled Service and dedication
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Margret Wells - Posted on 20 June 2023
On the 11th June my husband called a ambulance for myself as I had the symptoms of a heart attack. The call handler that dealt with this call was calm, dedicated and extremely helpful in keeping the situation under control at all times until the ambulance arrived. When the ambulance staff arrived the call handler left my wife in their care. Again dedication care and handling of the situation was beyond expections right up to handing my wife over to the care of the staff at the Norfolk university hospital. We can only express our greatest thanks to these staff for everything.

Review titled Neglected and no call out response
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 21 June 2023
I called 999 yesterday night around 10pm to speak to ambulance service as i was suffering with severe mental breakdown, and needed to be taken to a&e. The ambulance service said they will call Me back. They never called back until around 4am an by then I had already taken myself to hospital. When they called they kept saying they are trying to arrange transport. This was an extremely disturbing experience, to be ignored by the ambulance services. I have since been admitted onto the psyche ward by the doctors and am currently in hospital now

Review titled Called 999
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Ryan Pitcock - Posted on 18 June 2023
My daughter became unwell earlier today. Her head was being held at a jaunty angle and she couldn't keep her balance. She was hysterical and clearly unwell. I panicked and called 999. The service I received was phenomenal. They passed my call onto a paramedic who spoke with me for 20 minutes. By the end of the call, we both were assured she was ok and just needs a gp appointment in the morning. I realise now, 999 wasn't needed but the person I spoke to did not judge and kindly spent time with me to ensure not only my daughter was ok but that I was as well. I would love to this person to get the praise he deserves so if there is someone I can contact, I know his name.

Review titled They seemed completely disinterested
by Annabelle 23 - Posted on 05 May 2023
In absolute agony I desperately called 999 and was put through to someone who seemed completely disinterested, said they couldn't send an ambulance and tersely told me to call 111. I had explained that I was in awful pain, described my symptoms and needed help. What if I had fainted or collapsed? I live on my own so there was no one to find me. This call lasted very few seconds. In desperation I called 111 and in just a couple of minutes the call handler had passed me to a nurse who then said she had sent for an ambulance. It arrived in 10 minutes. What does this say for the call handlers?

Review titled Care at its best
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Vanessa Barrs - Posted on 21 May 2023
The ambulance crew turned up very promptly and were caring and efficient. They ensured that a follow up visit, by a doctor/nurse was put in place, as a trip to hospital wasn’t deemed necessary, on this occasion. Great service from our overstretched ambulance crews.

Review titled Saved my life
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Peter Casey - Posted on 06 April 2023
On Monday 3rd April I collapsed and lost consciousness at home. My heart stopped. Paramedics and ambulance crew attended within five minutes and immediately helped me to recover sufficiently before taking me and my wife to Lister Hospital ED. They saved my life through their expertise and efficiency. I cannot thank them enough. They were all brilliant !

Review titled I found the 111 service to be useless and pointless
by indigogj98 - Posted on 12 April 2023
I’ve used CPFT FRS on a couple of occasions. I think I may have spoken to the same person both times who I did not find helpful. No structure, no assessment, no help, no referral on. The ONLY reason to call 111 option 2 in Cambridgeshire is if you want a referral to the Cambridge Sanctuary, which I understand is very nice. I found the person I spoke to useless. I told them I wanted referral on to the Crisis Response team, and they told me they couldn’t refer me to anything with a response that day. Which is not very helpful if you’re actually at immediate, real risk of suicide. I find it unutterably bizarre that the advice on the CPFT website is to call these people. Why? Who on Earth are they able to help? Certainly not people in crisis. I find it equally bizarre that CPFT have won awards for this service. Save yourself the upsetting experience of calling people who don’t care. A&E and/or 999 and/or GPs are the only people who can help.
