Review titled Fantastic Care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sarah Thompson - Posted on 05 January 2024
The GP called an ambulance to my father in law 2 nights ago as he was struggling with his breathing. The ambulance arrived at the time we were informed it would and the team provided excellent care, checking him thoroughly and arranging for a prescription to be provided at a local pharmacy which I was able to pick up that same evening. My father in law is now so much better and on the road to recovery. Sorry I'm not allowed to name the team who attended but we are very grateful and hope they enjoyed the music.

I just wanted to recognise the fantastic service of the ambulance crew who took care of my partner after an accident at Centre Parcs Woburn on 20 January 2024. I have always admired the NHS and think you do a fantastic job which was reconfirmed after this accident. The hospital staff at Bedford hospital in the majors ward was also great. Thank you and we hope you all get the recognition you deserve.

Review titled Amazing Team
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Sharon M - Posted on 06 January 2024
A crew of 3 attended when our Dad was having difficulties breathing. They were amazing when dealing with my dad and took time to discuss what we as a family thought should happen next. When the decision was made to take him to hospital they allowed my sister to accompany our dad. Unfortunately dad had a stroke on route and the crew were amazing when this happened. Dad then had another stroke whilst in the emergency department and ended up being there for several hours. We were so surprised when the crew came to see our dad later in the day. This small gesture was so appreciated by all our family and really showed what caring people they are. We cannot thank this team enough and thankfully due to their professionalism we are going to have our dad home with us very soon.

Review titled Long wait for ambulance stroke patient
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 January 2024
I called an ambulance on the 16th december 23 as my husband had a sttoke to be told it would be 2 hours for an abulance maybe longer. Athough the adverts on TV state that treatment needs to be within 4 hours we waited an hour and called again to be told an ambulance would be despatched but no actual time so in the end my adult sons came to help me get him to hospital ourselves. I understand there were ilnesses and staff shortages but getting the treatment in time makes all the difference to the outcome of a stroke and to whether a person will be disabled. I dont blame the ambulance staff but something needs to be done about our nhs as if i hadnt got my husband to hospital when i did things coulx have been so different. It was a very stressful experience

Review titled Excellent and highly professional service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Kevin Radford - Posted on 10 September 2023
On the 4th August my wife called an ambulance as I was experiencing a dull pain in my chest. When the two paramedics arrived, they quickly identified that I was having a heart attack. They decided that the best place to take me was the Royal Papworth hospital. Throughout the journey one of the paramedics monitored my condition and explained fully what action would be taken on arrival at the hospital. On arrival I had a stent fitted and was in the critical care department in under an hour. I understand from the consultant that there didn't appear to be any damage done to my heart and I am now well on my way to recovery. I truly believe that this was down to the paramedics decisive action. Unfortunately I am not allowed to name them but perhaps you could check your records and pass on my sincere thanks to them!

I would like to compliment the two ambulance crew who attended me at home when I was unwell today. They could not have been more professional or caring. I would like to pass my thanks on to their managers if at all possible.

I rang for a ambulance as I was in labour and the pushing stage came very quick! The person taking the call was incrediable. Explained in great detail and kept us all carm in a crazy situation. Even got the time the baby was born ! Both ambulance crews came so quick! And took over straight away! One crew took baby and one crew to me the mum and checked us over and took us to hospital quickly in rush hour traffic! My baby needed oxygen and days on special care! I needed emerngcy surgery as placenta removing . I’m so great full for the crew and the person taking the call. Can’t thank them all enough

Review titled Awful experience
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 27 July 2023
I was in intense pain and agony so I called them and escribed my symptoms they said an ambulance would take 40 minutes so I waited while screaming into my pillow. After 40 minutes they called back saying I don't need an ambulance and I should see my GP even though I could barely move. They said my intense pain was just a UTI. Turns out it was appendicitis and I needed surgery. I felt so ignored and belittled when I kept explaining that I'm not feeling well only to be told to calm down why crying in agony. Will never trust this service again. Went to A and E and it was confirmed I was right all along. It was appendicitis and it does need surgery.
