    I was struggling with depression. Throughout this time I have met with kindness, what I think of as the human touch. I am thankful for the listening ear and thoughtfulness that has help me repair. Thank you

    I have waited just over a month now for a letter from my son’s GP as proof of his disabilities. Initially I had to wait 14 days for the doctor to return from his annual leave, I then spoke directly with the GP concerned and was told the letter would be ready two days later. It never arrived. For the past two weeks I have been chasing this letter as a matter of urgency. I have called into the surgery twice, rang several times to be told by receptionists that I won’t get it for free (I wasn’t expecting to!), that they’ll pass on my query to his secretary as a matter of urgency ect ect! I have 48hrs in which to submit this very urgent letter to the local council before my application, which has so far taken three and a half months is cancelled altogether and I will have to start the entire process again! I am absolutely furious that I have been kept waiting this length of time when the doctor and the reception staff are aware of the urgency. If the doctor didn’t want to write this letter, I would have appreciated it if he told me in the first place. Don’t promise something for two days later and then not go through with it! I expected more professionalism than this and I certainly don’t need the patronising tone from the receptionist when I enquire as to where said letter is. I am livid in the extreme at the shocking lack of service and poor attitude of the reception staff in general.
