Review titled Bad to worse
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 February 2023
I was advised to speak to my doctor about getting an x Ray after a referral from my physio. Called reception as I do not need an emergency appointment and was told to book through the online system. Tried this just after 7am and all line's closed. I can understand this for an emergency appointment but for a future one??? I then tried to add a complaint online only to find that was closed also. Lost for words who holds these surgeries responsible service is abysmal.

Review titled No system for appointment or follow ups
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 14 February 2023
Had an appointment cancelled no alternative or doctor offered. Ended up phoning 111 and using the out of hours service over the weekend who asked me to urgently follow up with my own GP practice the following day to get swobs done as only your GP practice can do them. Filled in online form clearly stated guidance from 111 and out of ours service and reasons why. Couldn't get through via phone to book an appointment. Rang at lunchtime to go over issue and explain I needed to get swobs done and I had completed a form for an appointment. No appointment given or contact regarding when this might be. Still waiting. Too late to have swobs as I needed to have swobs done within a time certain time period prior to taking antibiotics. This health issue will recurr again and I must try and get swobs done by the practice again. This is impossible to do when you cannot get staff at the surgery to listen to you. Very alarmed at procedures in place at this practice. This is the second time I have had to rely on our of hours GP service through 111 who are brilliant because I have not been able to secure an appointment with the surgery.

Review titled Very happy with this Practice.
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I recently changed my GP surgery due to poor service. From my initial communication with Tower Hill the service I have received has been excellent. I have seen 2 nurses one for my initial consultation who was professional, polite and very friendly. The second nurse was fantastic she showed empathy towards me going above and beyond to make me feel calm during taking bloods when she knew I was feeling anxious. She reassured me and even went to find a smaller needle. All staff have been friendly and offered an excellent level of service. Well done to the whole team at Tower Hill and also a thank you to the pharmacist and his staff again offering a professional and friendly service. I am so pleased I made the move to Tower Hill.

Review titled Lovely nurse
Rated 4 stars out of 5

Had an appointment with the nurse today for cervical screening and as every woman will understand it is not the most dignified examination and rather embarrassing. As soon as I entered the room I was straight away put at ease by the lovely, warm, kind, bubbley nurse. She explained everything that was involved and what she would be doing , she chatted to me throughout which helped take my mind off the examination and before I knew it, it was all done ! Obviously it is very important to have this screening so having a nurse like this makes it much easier and less embarrassing.

Rang and asked for appt. Receptionist brokered me in and advised I would best see practice nurse 1st (in view of my medical query). They explained that I may then need to see GP. Both nurse and GP were very reassuring and took time to listen

Review titled Blood test
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Kay - Posted on 31 January 2023
Made an appointment for a cholesterol blood test. Before I hung up I asked the receptionist if I needed to fast, she said no. I double checked and said do I not need to fast before a cholesterol test? She said no, it just says routine. Walked in to see the nurse and what was the first question she asked…. Have you fasted? She even pointed out to me where it said fasting on the blood form. Fortunately, having had a cholesterol check before, I had fasted but many other people may not have.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention so sorry Kay you were given the wrong information, we will make sure all the receptionists know how to check the blood forms. Once again so for any inconvenience this may have caused.
