Review titled Awful
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Karen - Posted on 19 April 2023
I had to go to A&E for a problem and was given medication told to follow up with my GP for further tests. I have been trying to contact the surgery for 4 days. After trying to contact them I finally managed to complete an e-consult form and had to modify my answers because it kept telling me to call (mission impossible) at 8am Monday and was told I would contacted by 6.30pm Tuesday. As expected - no contact. Submitted the form to say I hadn’t been contacted. Still no contact and I can’t resubmit the form until 7pm tonight. Absolutely shocking. Been trying to call all day today!!!! I am so completely frustrated. The option to change Drs is not possible as you are the only GP in my catchment area taking on new patients. According to your website you have 18 doctors, are taking on new patients but can’t deal with your existing customers. I have various health conditions including type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure and yet I can’t remember the last time I actually saw my GP!

Review titled Useless!
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by A Carer - Posted on 06 March 2023
I left a review recently about how difficult it is to liaise and/or contact this surgery and the problems this can cause for carers supporting loved ones with complex health and care needs that often change. The surgery replied to my review asking me to contact them to speak to their Care Coordinator who could offer support. I visited the surgery today and mentioned all this to the receptionist in the hope she would be able to put me in touch with the appropriate person. Unfortunately, yet again it seems that the dissemination of information within this surgery is lacking. The receptionist had no idea who I should speak to or who to contact. Maybe when the College Practice gets around to seeing this review they can leave a telephone number or an email address for this illusive care coordinator they purport to have.

Review titled Great service from receptionist and follow up
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Terry Coombes - Posted on 26 March 2023
I could not use the econsult system recently due to having had treatment for cancer. Phoning the surgery(Albion Place) was not possible due to a Kent wide NHS issue but managed to get to the surgery and explained my issues. I had a chest infection, it was late Friday afternoon and the local pharmacy was closing soon. The receptionist took my details and advised a doctor was with patient but may want to speak with me. I received a call at approximately 18:00 from the doctor who discussed the symptoms with me and then arranged for the prescription to be available at a late night opening pharmacy not far away. It was ready within a short period of time. Great service all round.

Review titled Extremely Difficult to Contact
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by A Carer - Posted on 28 February 2023
This practice has no email address and communicates with patients via closed texts messages which can't be responded to. There phone line queues are often full and then you get cut off. The online EConsult system is cumbersome, over lengthy and is full of unrelated questions. There overall system makes it especially difficult for patients and carers to maintain vital lines of communication with practice staff especially for those patients with complex, regularly changing or palliative care health needs.

Review titled Too many patients !
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 23 February 2023
Having been a patient for many years, the Practice is no longer accessible or acceptable I eventually managed to get through by phone to be told I have to use e-consult. I filled in all details & at the end of the form 'We cannot help you, you need to speak to the surgery / Doctor. Another phone call, several days later. I speak to receptionist (& said e-consult said ring) She told me there are no appointments ! I asked if I could book one in advance, expecting an appt. a couple of weeks later ? I was yold there are no future appointments ! I thought I would ring another day but recording said waiting queue full. Eventually got through to recording, pressing zero for a call back. Three days later still no call back. !!! Incidentally, the receptionist told me the first time I could always ring 111 or go to A & E...as if they are not busy enough !!! This really is unsatisfactory & I feel sorry for all the (more senior patients, no disrespect intended) who had to join from the Allington Surgery now using the One College Practice phone number !!!! Without success

Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

I urge you not to join this surgery. Phoned at 8am continuously and was not able to even be on the call back list until i was in the que and was able to request a call back at 08:30. I did not receive a call back till 16:30 to tell me there were no appointments that day and i could not book in for an appointment at all! I was advised if urgent to call 111. This is truly ludicrous and i implore anyone experiencing the same to consider health insurance if an option. I say this as i had the same issue not being able to get an appointment a few months ago!

Review titled Wonderful staff
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Colin Polhill - Posted on 03 January 2023
I would just like to say how wonderful the people who work in the College Practice in Barming have been to me. Nothing is too much trouble and, although they are busy, I’m made to feel important, valued and worth caring for. Thank you everyone. I won’t name individuals because I recognise that it is, after all, a team effort.

Was asked to update my blood Pressure ,after a cancellation got an appointment to which the clinician was concerned how high it was and that I needed tablets ,rang doctor he was on dinner break, so was told how unfit over weight I needed to sort it out at the time I had just joined the gym and yoga as for my weight I'd had lost over a stone at the time and I've been muscular in my upper body not taken in to concentration! I done a week of blood pressure tests had blood tests done they came back al good no further action ask about my blood Pressure tests and they didn't have them and said make appointment tryed this unsuccessful so far ,but as they haven't been it contacted I take it they must be all good as the say they will not contact you if the results are all good ,So all the bad things about how bad I'm am as a person looking after my health and get me thinking im the worst person in the world was utter nonsense ,I will try again next week to get to the bottom of this .

Review titled Excellent asthma nurse
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2023
A very comprehensive and helpful asthma review. The nurse took time to explain all areas and I feel much better informed about my asthma. She gave me plenty of time and even set up a telephone review appointment.
