    After being prescribed medication by the hospital & them requesting for the GP Surgery to do repeat prescriptions the reception team has been very helpful in assisting with this action.

    I called recently to try and get a last minute appointment for my child. The receptionist advised that no appointments were available but if I needed one to try and call back later in the day to see if anyone had a cancellation. The receptionist was very helpful and understanding of my needs around working and did the best for my child to be seen. I have called on previous occasions and this has been with a similar outcome. I would like to praise the reception staff at the health centre and hope this this remains a good level of service for the future.

    The staff are always harping on about booking appointments online but none ever get put up. So you have to call the practice and speak to some incredibly snotty or just outright mean admin staff who sound like they hate their job. Very uncomfortable for anyone with anxiety. And they just adore diagnosing you over the phone. Oh you don't sound like you need a doctor urgently they say. You have to fight and insist on getting an appointment, and when it turns out the issue is actually severe and you almost didn't get seen there's absolutely no responsibility taken by these people. Shockingly poor.

    Thank you Anonymous for taking the time to write a review. It is always difficult to respond to negative reviews without having all the information following a thorough investigation. We would always encourage our patients to do this in the first instance, that way we can help to make further improvements wherever possible. We can assure you that we have more appointments available online than most practices in Rotherham. We have however recently removed GP appointments from online access as we don't have to offer these contractually online. We also found that patients were booking inappropriately when another clinician would be more appropriate, and patients need to be triaged accordingly. As per information on our website, we have undertaken a lot of work, including capturing and analysing data to make changes to our appointment system. These changes have helped. We have also provided extensive training to our reception team to ensure that they are able to take details of patients ailments and signpost them to the appropriate service first time. Often this is not a GP. There are other trained clinicians who are able to treat patients accordingly. If you want to contact us, I would be more than happy to listen to the recording when you called to see if this is a training issue?     I had a very positive experience the receptionist was pleasant and helpful. The GP listened and was both kind and professsional. I have never had anything other than a good experience at the centre and appreciate, value all the hard work they do.

    I have been a patient at swallownest medical center for over a year now and I have never had a problem with getting an appointment, If I ring up early enough in the morning then I can get an appointment the same day. However the staff have always been kind courteous to me and always tried to help. during my career I have worked around the uk and this Centre has been by far the best.. Well done guys keep up the good work.

    Always unable to get an appointment. Can never get into the queue on the phone to get an appointment. Always says, call back later! 72 hours to sign a prescription? For acute pain! Leads to 5 days without help if asked for even early hours Thursday morning. If you want it, always ask for a week in advance of running out and hope they will sign it early! Receptionist are rude, not a good experience talking to them yet. I've never in my life disliked a place so much. Causes anxiety every time. I'll be taking myself and my family somewhere else!

    Thank you Anonymous for your feedback. As per our website news, we have undertaken a lot of work collating data and analysing it to enable us to change our appointment system. The changes came into effect in February and have been successful to date. We allow 15 people in the queue at any one time to stop people hanging on. Our call reports show that our calls are answered on average under 6 minutes. Our staff work to demand and have other tasks to undertake too. 72 hours is the standard time for all practices, as much work goes into processing prescriptions. We would encourage our 16,500 patients to be organised with regards to requesting their repeat prescriptions. We have provided our reception team with further training with regards to customer service, and we are able to listen back to recorded calls. I would welcome you to contact me so that this can be investigated thoroughly, which I think would only be fair, and allow us to respond accordingly.     Rang to see if they could help with a referral a GP has made to Rotherham Hospital but not heard anything in a couple of months. The new option on the phone of being able to speak directly with the medical secretaries made the process easy. Additionally they followed up straight away and rang me back within an hour stating what they had done which also did the trick as the hospital rang the same day and offered an appointment. Fantastic service delivered in a very professional manner from the Secretary.

    Having attended hypertension clinic I had explained to the nurse who I seen that morning how I-had been feeling, the nurse was very pleasant and courteous and advised me to make a face to face appointment with a doctor, I left nurses room went straight to the receptionist and asked her to book me an appointment. The receptionist asked me what my medical problem was, I told her that the nurse had advised me to make an appointment with the receptionist to see a g p. Firstly the receptionist asks you your name and address, and then wanted more information on the reasons I want an appointment the waiting room was full and our conversation was in ear shot of everyone in there , and this made me feel uncomfortable, it is unacceptable that I should have to give all my personal details to everyone in the waiting room including my date of birth and name and address and to be quite honest neither did I want to discuss my health issues with the receptionist, she knew that it was connected with the appointment I had attended on that morning and she did not need any more information , I again asked if she would make me an appointment she then replied that she needed more information, I looked at the waiting room that was full of people and then turned to the receptionist and said, this isn’t exactly confidential is it? The receptionist told me that we could go around the back and discuss it, I found the whole experience absolutely ridiculous, does everyone have to disclose their personal details to the receptionist and everyone in the waiting room? by now my stress levels where higher than they was before I had arrived at the clinic. I then told the receptionist I wasn’t prepared to discuss anything more with her and that anything more on the subject I will discuss with my G P, and asked was she going to make me an appointment or not, a simple yes or no, she once again told me she wanted more information, I took that as a no and walked out

    I have always had a positive experience at the surgery. All staff are friendly, helpful and caring. I recently attended an appointment with a nurse. Only by chance by looking on the online booking system did I find an appointment at 7am. I have never seen appointments advertised as being available so early. This was extremely convenient as it meant I didn't need to book time off work. I have mentioned this to others who have now also booked in at this time for the same reason. Having this early morning service has been invaluable.

    Thank you Anonymous for your review. We have had early Tuesday morning appointments with Nurses, GP's (patient choice of telephone or face to face) and Healthcare Assistants for a number of years now. The information is shared on our website, newsletters and also social media when we used to have it. As someone who works full time myself, this sort of access is fundamental to our service. Appointments are also available with all types of clinicians both either face to face or telephone and during the evenings and weekends at other local practices too.     I have complex health problems and find the receptionists ,doctors & nurses are realy good ,even though extremly busy they do there best to fit you in & help & are always very caring .sometimes the phones are busy but thats due to high demand. They listen & deliver fantastic care & follow ups. They all work very hard & deserve thanks for a job well done in such tough times.
