Review titled A mess - needs a professional review
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 October 2024
Go to book an appointment, lines busy told to go to eConsult. Go to website and attempt to use eConsult and told not accepting new conditions. Go back to home page and says use Nhs app. Log into Nhs app and told unable to use this service for your Gp. Back on hold waiting to speak to someone whilst constantly told to go online. As a whole I have nothing positive to say about this surgery. They never agree with surgeons or another Drs diagnosis which prolongs treatment and gives you zero confidence, they complain about being there and they are putting patients at risk by not having a suitable contact system. It is a total mess and I cant imagine the poor receptionist is having much fun dealing with it all. Patients are not having any alternative but to not be seen, not get prescriptions of medication they need and continuing to be in pain. I've heard of many patients going to a&e when they know its a Gp reason but just cant get appointment - not what a&e is for!

Review titled Confused

I have been advised by the practice pharmacist to contact the practice to book a blood test. I live on Kingsway just down the road from the enormous Kingsway surgery. I have registered with the Kingsway surgery because I live on Kingsway. It made perfect sense to sign on with a surgery just down the road. Can you please tell me why it is I have to go to Barton Gate for a blood test??? I did not sign on to the Kingsway surgery in order to travel across town for something as simple as a blood test. Hadwen Health is actually closer to Kingsway than Barton Gate, but unfortunately I cannot register with them as I live outside their catchment area. On that basis, surely I am outside the catchment area for Barton Gate. I wonder how many Barton Gate patients are booked into Kingsway. I appreciate GPs and Practice Managers want to build their empires, but really, can we not have local appointments!!! The waiting time for a blood test in Kingsway is 6 weeks. This waiting time cannot be genuine, surely?!

Ordered online medication and stated it was urgent due to my own failure, to order early. Checked online 2 days later to see if it’s been received and authorised, still not actioned not even read. Called into practice and reception stated, we are very busy and the staff will review when they get to it. Told reception that I don’t have any medication and was told, ‘should have ordered earlier to avoid issues.’ Asked to speak with someone like nurse or practice manager but have to book an appointment. You can’t when their e-consult system won’t allow. Worst practice I’ve ever encountered

My grown up child contacted the doctor twice last week with a high temperature and raging sore throat. Both times he received no appointment or call back but was referred to a chemist by text. First chemist told him he needed to see a doctor but yet again was referred to as different chemist This resulted in h having to attend accident and emergency and told that he has severe tonsillitis and infected glands. He is now on antibiotics painkillers and throat spray. The doctor at the hospital said had he been seen earlier he wouldn't be so bad now. Come on rosebank sort yourself out

Review titled Great Practice ….. But!

I have been with this surgery for many years. My experience with them had been good. I struggle with severe mental health illnesses, and saw a fabulous mhn for many years before he had to leave , I have been seeing another fabulous mhn at the surgery for a few months but heard yesterday that she too is leaving . I do hope they get any mhn at the surgery as they are a asset for both patients and staff they free up appointments with Drs for other patients. I had a lovely receptionist ring me yesterday to book me In for blood tests and a telephone consultation with a Dr as my mhn appointment was cancelled due to staff sickness .

Review titled Complete waste of my time
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Skye - Posted on 06 June 2023
I did an econsult and was told to go to a pharmacist. Went to the pharmacist and was told to go back to the GP so I phoned and was told to do another econsult! They told me someone would call me by 6:30pm and no one did. I even called 20 minutes before to make sure someone would call me and the receptionist was rude to me. Honestly a waste of my time and I feel like no one there cares.

Review titled Excellent practice

A quick message for a big thank you for the care we received yesterday. I phoned in the afternoon regarding respiratory concerns with my daughter and I was booked in the same evening! I can’t remember the name of the practitioner that we saw - but he was fantastic (if a personal thank you could be given that would be great). He reassured us that everything was okay, and gave some advice of how to help her recovery. His calm nature certainly put Harper at ease too. At a time when the pressure on the NHS is high, I wouldn’t have been able to tell. So thank you, again, to everyone who helped me yesterday.
