  1. Review titled Unusual phone experience

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 May 2023

I called to make an appointment and I was told there were none available at any point, I asked when would be best to ring back as the situation was urgent, he said call again in two weeks. As it couldn’t wait I had to call 111 to be seen by a GP at the exact same location so I could be booked in for blood tests. A week later needing a follow up appointment I called again as the situation was worsening, he initially booked a appointment for ten days away, then called me and said it would now be three weeks away and put the phone down on me. Literally said the new date and put the phone down. I called back a day later to ask if a quicker appointment could be booked if it was by phone due to the urgency, he offered five weeks away, so two weeks more. I have had to resort to 111 three times to get appointments and to feel like I am being treated as a human, the 111 staff also agree I need to be seen with some urgency as do the GP’s if/when I eventually see them. However this is a last resort after describing symptoms to an uncaring individual who makes no attempt to hide how much I am inconveniencing them and is seemingly plucking appointment dates out of the air based on whatever they deem important. I’m not trying to inconvenience you nor are your other patients, I need to work to support my family and I need to be in good health to do so, you deal in humans - not Amazon returns.

Dear patient thank you for your feedback, and we apologise for the issues that you experienced when you tried to make an appointment. I will ask our Reception Manager to address this at our next training session. Many appointments can now be made on line via the NHS app. You can also ask the practice a question via our web site www.mh-bp.co.uk

  3. Review titled Poor access

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 June 2023

Since moving to Market Harborough in November 2022 many interactions with the practice have been disappointing, except the actual contact with a gp, far worse than anything experienced before. 1. Access to gp: appalling. a) 31 May - practice refers me to Urgent Care Centre because no one can see me until 8th July. Notes say I have to See a doctor - not a phone call to gp, or a practice nurse. I couldn't see the recommended gp until mid August! b) previously: booked appointment in January to See a gp in person; I had a 6 week wait until March- only to find on the day, contrary to expectation and information on my app - that this was a telephone call! Receptionist was unhelpful: my experience was like a sketch from the comedy 'Little Britain': “computer says “no” - c) June 15th. Tried to add a note to repeat prescription request that I was ordering early as I was going on holiday: it can’t be done. On ringing I was advised I had to go in personally- this request can’t be done on phone. Absurd! d) I can’t get access to letters etc from hospitals sent to this practice unlike my previous practice. I know things are tough due to high demand and most staff do their best, but the lack of access to gp and to information on my record is unacceptable.

  4. Review titled Caring, kind, nothing too much trouble

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 12 April 2023

I called the surgery at 8am and was waiting on for 45 mins, which I expected after a bank holiday. I’d given up hope of getting an appointment at that point but stayed on the phone anyway. I have had strep a since Saturday, and with both people I live with having covid, made it extremely difficult for me to go to the surgery. I spoke to a lovely receptionist who went through every option for me, but as expected there were no appointments. She said I could speak with the pharmacist and they would send the consultation notes through to my GP to make a decision if I needed a prescription. Within the hour, the pharmacist called me and asked me to call back at 3 to check my GP had done a prescription. I spoke with another receptionist after 3, who was extremely helpful and kind, and said my GP was dealing with requests as we spoke. Shortly after, I received a text to say a prescription was ready to be picked up. The whole experience was completely stress free, no being told to call back another day and the staff I spoke too were so sincere. All staff members really did try their best to ensure I was sorted out. I now have my antibiotics and I’m so impressed with the service provided. Thank you to the pharmacy and the medical centre staff

  5. Review titled Excellent people skills

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Angela Underwood - Posted on 07 March 2023

Went to a young receptionist last week regarding onward support of my ailing mother who we wished to care for at home. She listened to our problem and spent time researching our options and put us on the right track. We appreciated her kindness and consideration.

  6. Review titled Thanks for urgent care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 March 2023

Thanks for the urgent care you provided when my wife turned up at your centre teatime on Tues 14 March. She subsequently spent ten days in Kettering Hospital. The immediate care which your staff, doctors and nurses offered not only took care of her health, but gave her much needed support and comfort. Professional through and through

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Rebecca - Posted on 14 February 2024

i am ringing daily for my daughter after she has been given the run about for weeks by receptionist’s telling her no availability , as they are short staffed with barely any nurses. After speaking with a doctor n in constant pain she was told they wanted her to go in and be examined to confirm what was wrong n then she could get better treatment for the pain . Only problem is receptionists keep saying no slots free so weeks on she is in agony n still no help!! Now i am trying to resolve this for her as its crazy n i keep getting put on hold n have to go through the whole thing again with different staff n told i would get a call back to discuss it n then noone calls me back!!!! Totally unacceptable and unprofessional now i will have to go into the surgery to see if i can get this resolved after false promises to return my calls n to get my hirl seen asap still nothing !!!
