  1. Review titled frustrating, inefficient!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 31 July 2023

Even the review doesn't work, I keep getting error messages after writing about my experience and then the whole page crashes when I try to submit and I have to start again! Wednesday 26th. Return after a period away, with lump and pain. Filled out the online form. "someone will contact you within 24 hours." Thurs. No one contacts me click "no one contacted me" get message "someone will contact you by Friday" friday - no one contacted me. ring surgery, home phone battery dies after the length of time waiting. use mobile. Get told after holding 45 minutes I can have an appointment Saturday 29th. And I will have a text to confirm. (I've explained that Monday pm I'm flying to Australia, leaving afternoon). the text arrives confirming the appointment, but it's for Monday !! Start again holding in the queue, explain, finally get told I can have an appointment that evening in 20 minutes time. Run to the surgery. See doctor who says I need an X ray but she can't authorise it, but I'll get a text later that day doing so when another doctor has authorised. no text. Ring today, Monday 31st "the X ray will be authorised" I explain for the 4th time that I'm leaving for the airport pm so would need to do X ray in the morning. No X ray authorisation follows. I am now leaving for an extended period in Aus with a lump, pain, need for X ray - but no X ray. What's the point of seeing a doctor (was she?) who can't recommend an X ray and none of the other colleagues communicate with them ? It's frustrating, inefficient and very upsetting, I feel abandoned and that the practice just doesn't care. I remember when I could walk into the practice and see a doctor that I knew face to face. Why should that only be available to the well - off?

Please do make contact so we can help you navigate these challenges. It seems you have a very small window of time to seek the care your are requesting. I would need to understand more specifics before being able to comment in if this is achievable but please do reach out so we can help you explore this. Please call today and ask to speak to a team leader.

  3. Review titled Inhumane approach to a patient in pain

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Have bacterial stomatitis, no NHS dentist available in Hertford. The doctor won't prescribe me anything, won't even see me, saying that I have to go to the dentist to get an antibiotic. I'm in pain, the infection has spread, and now have a problem with my heart too.

  5. Review titled Hard to get an appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

Great doctors when you get to actually see them …. Always running significantly behind time and as parking is meter’d you have no idea how long to pay for. Last three 10am type appointments I’ve been waiting over 30mins beyond the appointment time. Recent e consult I had to chase 3 times to finally be contacted 5 days later. Sent for urgent bloods, told results and action within a week…. Once results were in, they then didn’t give me an appointment for 2 weeks to prescribe me the medication. Follow up appointment 24hrs later and questioned why I hadn’t got my prescription yet ( well they wernt in a rush to give me in the first place). Surgery is still open and at 5pm no one is answering the phones neither does the phone tell you a spot in the queue or that they are not taking calls, forcing you to give up and ring 111. When I do see a doctor I’m happy with the advice and friendliness of the team.

  6. Review titled Exceptional practice.

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Jill Chartell - Posted on 12 January 2023

This is the 3rd of my recent reviews for Wallace House Surgery. My most important recent visit to Wallace House Surgery was on Friday 2nd December 2022, and this was arranged by another excellent doctor whom I had known for many years, and whom I was lucky enough to speak to on 1st December the previous day. The doctor listened to my problems, and she suggested that I should have a 'face to face' appointment with the duty doctor the following day. I had not seen this particular doctor for a couple of years or so, but I had a special rapport with her, especially as my beloved partner, who had passed away on 16th Septmber that year, spoke very highly of her. When I saw the doctor she examined me thoroughly; asked if I was worried about any other medical conditions, and allowed me to ask questions. The doctor was efficient, caring and very thorough. The doctor sent me for various tests and urgent blood tests so that I was able to drop into Hertford County Hospital pathology, without an appointment. On 23rd December, the doctor who had examined me on 2nd December, telephoned me herself to give me the results of all my hospital tests, and she gave me advice on how to proceed forwards. Thank you so much to this particular doctor, and I wish that I was allowed to mention her name. Thank you to all the doctors, and staff at Wallace House Surgery. I know most of the doctors, receptionists and staff at Wallace House by their names, and I appreciate all their expertise. I have always had a good experience at Wallace House Surgery since I joined the practice as a patient, many years ago. Finally a big 'thank you' to everyone at Wallace House for being so caring towards my beloved partner who passed away in Isabel Hospice on 16th September 2022. I appreciate everything that you did for him, and I always recommend Wallace House Surgery to everyone whom I know. Thank you all, and lots of good luck for 2023. Jill Chartell

  10. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Tracey parker - Posted on 25 October 2022

Super service from my doctor . I had an issue with my prescription and the ladies dealing with it went above and beyond to sort it out. The fault was with the chemist not the doctors but both these ladies were superb. I cannot thank them enough . They were empathic , helpful , polite and made such an effort to sorting it for me which it was. The service in general is excellent but I really want to thank you to the team at Wallace house for their superb help today
