I changed my address in 2023 and was due medication review in 2024 and they continually sent my blood test forms to old address so I still haven’t had my review and am no longer getting my medication, they want me to go and collect the forms from the surgery, but I am disabled and I work so have been unable to do this

Called at 8.30 got though straight away. No wait time. Appointments available for times I needed. Friendly staff. Understanding GP supported myself where I needed.

Tried to get an appointment, could never get one as always told all appointments are gone. Was on a repeat prescription for a number of drugs, these ceased and no more were provided, this coincided with covid pandemic. My surgery were aware of health condition yet no seemed to want to help me. My health has gone down during the last 3 years as I could not see a doctor face to face. Recently I have been to derby royal, where they performed a number of test, yet my surgery say they have not received the final results.

Regarding your experience with your repeat prescription medication, please be assured that medications are only ceased in very rare cases, typically when it is deemed unsafe to continue prescribing them. Prescribers are legally obligated to ensure the safety of patients before signing a prescription. If essential monitoring has not been conducted as required, the prescriber must make a decision based on the patient's safety whether to continue or discontinue the medication. Regarding the test results from your recent visit to Derby Royal, please understand that we can only access these results if they have been sent to us by the hospital. There was a period in late 2022/ early 2023 where I was having a few health issues that needed visits to the surgery. On all occasions, I was dealt with and treated with a lot of respect and care. The same GP whom I saw on each visit made sure all avenues of possible cause and problem was looked into and remedied. I have gone through and going through a lot of changes of certain things in my life, but I would not wish to change my surgery under any circumstances. Its a nice practice with friendly staff, However its challenging to get an appointment in one instance I made over 100 calls before I had any joy,needs to be dealt with ASAP , It seems to have been since Covid & its like that it's still happening please make it easier to get a appointment i live over the road from Doctor's & could walk over to book an appointment Not now its a phone call or nothing..

We understand that navigating through the system can be challenging, and we appreciate your feedback. Firstly, we want to assure you that we are continuously working to improve our services to better accommodate our patients' needs. We have recently increased our patient coordinators and implemented measures such as online triage tools to streamline the appointment booking process and ensure timely access to care. Regarding your difficulty in making appointments at the desk, we discontinued this method many years ago for several reasons, primarily to ensure fairness and efficiency in appointment allocation. Queuing at the desk in the morning often caused delays in clinic schedules and because the staff were unable to fully triage due to confidentiality reasons this resulted in incorrect clinician bookings, necessitating additional appointments and reducing availability for others. Moreover, we recognised the accessibility challenges faced by some patients, such as the elderly, disabled, or those with childcare responsibilities, who may not be able to physically come to the surgery to book appointments and so were at a disadvantage, which could easily class as discrimination. Our goal is to provide equitable access to healthcare for all patients while maintaining operational efficiency.
