My Terminal very frail parent , has over the past 2 months had great Difficulty in swallowing liquids .She was prescribed a thickener which has become a life line .Without fluids it has a further Catastrophic affect on all areas of health .Without detail this has happened to her.I requested the prescription to come alongside the Blister pack .I have had four weekends in which we have none , She cannot Drink .It has still to this day been treated by reception with a response as if I am a difficult Daughter .The last I will have to go I have people waiting .I cannot source elsewhere ,spoon feed 2000ml of liquid a day is impossible .This is a lifeline for us and I have explained this for two months .It is a labour of love Caring .I cannot access the chemist now and all will be closed over weekend .There is a high risk of dehydration ,she has medical issues that as often in a hospital fluids are vital Receptions Please dont be rude ,I have requested this in advance for two months and my parent is in danger without , Please pass on information correctly .I will now struggle all weekend and there is always a possibility of hospital admission .It was so important that we did not go through another weekend like this .It impacts District Nurses ,which it has done this week already ,It is very hard Fluids are vital.

Review titled What a palaver! IT seems to have passed this practice by
Rated 1 star out of 5

Just spent 16 minutes in a phone queue to ask my GP practice to link my husband to my NHS App and give me proxy access so I can order my husband's regular prescription requests via the App. No. Not possible. I have to come to the surgery (5 miles away) to pick up a form and complete it. Unable even to tell me what information is required to compete the form or if I will be able to complete it while I am there. So, back to paper requests it is then! What's the point of having Apps if paper applications are still going to be required? And no. The application could not be posted out to me!

Good Afternoon, Thank you for your review and I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you. As you are requesting proxy access for someone else, your husband in the case, we require a form to be filled out giving you consent. We regularly review our processes and will be happy to update this one when we receive the guidance from NHS England. Kind regards Tracey Johnson Practice Manager

Review titled Ridiculous service
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Alison - Posted on 22 July 2024
Booked a phonecall appointment for me daughter for 4th July never got a call and no explanation. Rebooted for the following week was told a prescription would be issued for medication went to collect to find out no prescription had been written for her. Angry does not come close to how I was feeling as now got to wait for Dr to write another prescription and then for chemist to get it ready. No apologies or anything. Even have a text saying a prescription had been written for her. Completely ridiculous something so simple has not been done

From the point of calling the service to emergency practitioners quickly arriving, all staff were friendly and professional. Staff listened well and responded to the needs of my elderly neighbour with supportive referrals.

Sadly was going on holiday and forgot one of my meds. Front street surgery, where so great in helping me and I just went to a local pharmacy at the airport and all was sorted. Was such a relief and they were totally fine helping me with my mistake. Thank you so much.

Review titled Wonderful care
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Ishbel Herd - Posted on 15 November 2023
I have had cause to visit the surgery 3 times recently. On each occasion, I was seen the same day. Everyone: Doctors, nurses and reception staff were wonderful and caring. I have been a patient at Front Street for many years and cannot fault anything. I feel very fortunate to be a patient here.

Review titled Great Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Elizabeth - Posted on 13 November 2023
A Thursday: I rang the surgery. Following Monday: early morning telephone appointment. Friday same week: ECG and blood test. 10 days later face to face appointment to review test results. In the evening GP rang for information that had been overlooked. Have been referred to York Hospital - in February 2024. I joined this practice with my mother when I was three, had a break from it in the 1960s when a student, then re-registered in 1970. It has always been a very good practice.

Thank you to the staff who supported me over the summer during a period of mental ill health. A every contact I had with the service, I was treated with empathy and offered helpful and practical support to manage my situation. This combination of personalised, helpful and practical support guided me through an unexpected and extremely difficult time in my life and enabled me to get back on track. Review titled Rude staffed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 June 2023
I have never had a nice time calling this doctors practise. Every time I have to ring a I dread spreading to the receptionist with how rude they are to me. I have never had a nice person speak to me when calling up it’s always as if I am causing them an issue by ringing them. Even walking in to ask a question before I can say anything you get shouted at ‘have you logged on via the screen’ not every time you go in you are going for an appointment. My husband was very shocked with how rude everyone is as his doctors is extremely nice! This needs addressing as I am not the only one who has noticed when sitting in the waiting room over hearing people complain also!
