  1. Review titled Asthma check-up review

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Harry C - Posted on 15 August 2023

Was welcomed by friendly staff, i turned up 10 minutes early and was seen to promptly and with a smile. nurse was very comforting and easy to talk to, made all of my concerns disappear. she answered all of my questions and gave me a really solid plan to help us gauge how my asthma has developed over the few years I haven't had a check-up. building was very clean and comfortable.

I was very pleased that i saw a doctor after three or more years. The doctor i saw was brilliant listening to my problem. And seems to actually try to sort out my problems

  4. Review titled Your recent appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

The service was very bad, because I submitted my blood sample twice but no response. Still they are saying they need my samples again. I don't know what's happening there. So the service which I got from GP is so poor.

  6. Review titled No idea

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by James B - Posted on 10 August 2023

I have no idea as regards to the title--when i have an appointment i make sure that i will be on time--it is easy to sign in on the reception box-as regards to the service-the staff have always been welcoming and friendly. i have deep veins and blood has to be taken from a vein on the back of my hand and it would be nice to have the most experienced nurse to do it. you have good staff your system of reception works leave it alone

  8. Review titled MMR walk In climic

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by Brenda E - Posted on 30 August 2023

The ability to just walk in to the surgery for my MMR vaccinations without a prior appointment was great. This meant both my husband and I could turn up at a convenient time and both be seen and vaccinated together. Very convenient and very efficient with the bonus of not having to wait on the phone to make an appointment. The waiting time at the surgery was minimal - a maximum of 15 minutes. A very efficient service

  10. Review titled Your recent appointment

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by Ingrid C - Posted on 08 August 2023

I called the surgery last week to try and obtain an appointment for a doctor to check some lumps that had appeared on my arm and was told I needed to go online and complete an E consult on my phone. My phone is too old so re called the doctors to be told there were no appointment's and if needed should attend the walk in centre at St Mary's. I had already visited the pharmacy to ask the pharmacist to look and he said I definitely needed a doctor to check the lumps. I then proceeded to the walk in centre and was quickly seen and informed there was no point me going to there as it needed to be seen by my GP. Frustrated at this point I then went to your surgery at Cosham to be told that there were some triage appointments but I would need to phone in. So I went outside to make the call and explain I was stood right outside and could I make an appointment, Then was told the doctor would call me and do a call over the phone. I then went home, got a call from the doctor to come back to the surgery in 45 minutes time. Thankfully when I actually got to see the doctor she has referred me for an ultrasound. This process you currently have is absolutely stupid, I had to take time off work and drive half way round the city to try and get this resolved. What would I have done if I was not able to drive anywhere or had the wares about me to keep trying to get an appointment. The service is disgusting and disappointing after being with your surgery for so many years.

Thank you for your feedback. We are an appointment-led service, therefore when you call if we have reached capacity you will be appropriately signposted to complete an eConsult, contact 111 or attend a walk-in facility. Access is well publicised as being an issue across all of the health care services, quite simply because demand is greater than the resources available. Although we understand your frustrations and we are sorry that it was less than straightforward, as you advised yourself you were seen by a doctor that same day. We will share your experience with our team and make changes where we can to improve this going forward.
